All About Adam.

A Single Phone Call.

• So yeah. After that... all happened I made phone call, and surprisingly.. they answered.. I honestly don't know what I was expecting. A changed number maybe? It had been so long after all.

• I wait as the phone rings. On the fifth ring I was about to end the call but then I heard a voice. "Hello?" They said. I looked at my phone a little shocked if I'm honest, but I responded.

• "Hey um.. sorry I know this is out of no where.." there's a short pause before they speak again. "Adam? This is you right?" "Yeah." I say.

• "..I'm gonna send you my address. I want you to come over, we need to talk. I understand if you don't but.. think about it okay?.." there's a silence again until they speak. "Okay.. I think I'd like to see you."

• After the call I can't think. I'm pacing back and forth in my living room when I suddenly hear my doorbell ring. I turn to look at my door. I take a moment before actually walking up and opening it.

• So there I stand. Face to face with William. "It's been a long time.." I say. "Too long." William says. I invite him in and close the door. He goes and sits on my couch and I walk over to him.

• "Okay.. so. I'm gonna tell you why I invited you, but it's a bit of a long story.." He smiles softly. "Good thing I have all day."

• "So.. yeah." I say as I finish telling him everything that just happened. "Wait a minute so- you stabbed a dude, and now you know he's gonna come back and you don't wanna be alone so you want me here?.." he says looking slightly shocked.

• "Yeah yeah whatever he deserved to get stabbed. Anyways, there was something else.. I was hoping you'd help me with a plan?.." now he looks even more confused

• "A plan?? What plan?" I sit beside him on the couch and he looks at me. "Okay so.. I was thinking if he thinks I'm sleeping with.. another man he'll leave me alone.." he pauses. "So- you want me to sleep with you?.."

• I slap him on the back of his head. "No you dumbass. I want you to pretend like we are.. when he shows up.." William nods. "Right right. But, why pretend?"

• "Excuse me?.." he looks at me. "I'm just saying.. it would be more believable if we actually did it." I sigh. "William." "Yeah?" He says in response. "..Do you like men?" His face turns red and he jumps up.

• " What? No. I was just trying to help you out.." I nod. "And that right there is exactly why we're pretending. I'll be upstairs and I'll just need you to open the door if he comes by. And MENTION the fact that we've been sleeping together."

• "why can't we just lay in bed together and leave the door unlocked or something?" I sigh. "William. I don't even want to LAY in the same bed as you. Respectfully."

• He looks at me with a shocked expression. "Wow okay. Yeah whatever you say I guess. Let's do it your way."

• "okay so I'm gonna go upstairs now. If you hear a knock, open the door. That's how you know it's Kade, he never rings my doorbell he always knocks." William nods and I walk upstairs to my room.
