Back to present - at the party
Charles clears his throat from chocking "why were you running away?" He asks breaking into a chuckle and grabbing a snack from the table.
"I was just feeling rebellious I should say" she says with a smirk and a shrug, making everyone else laugh.
"Oh trust me, been there felt that" Lando adds leaning back onto his chair, munching, making everyone else laugh more, especially since it was coming from Lando.
"Yep, nothing to be embarrassed about. I feel like we have all been there" Kelly adds trying to make Siya feel comfortable.
"Oh no no dear!" Siya says gently "I'm never embarrassed of that, I'm actually glad I did what all I did, no regrets!" She says, bring her glass up.
And everyone drinks up for that.
The party goes on like the usual, Siya was just passing time around meeting people and chatting. People who came with their partners were busy with their partners, and probably drunk at that point of time. And people who were single mostly got busy with socialising around the party.
Carlos did want to talk with Siya, but he himself came with Lia, so he knew it isn't right to ignore his woman of the day. Not only that, he saw Siya was always surrounded by someone or the other.
If it wasn't some guy that was around her pissing Carlos off, then it was the girls who seems to be enjoying her company. It will be for sure that she'll be getting some invites from the people that she made friends with now.
Lia sees that Carlos was looking at Siya's way " Looks like she's popular with the guys" she says testing the waters.
"Yeah, she had a nickname back then" he says shifting his gaze to her
"What?"
"Girl friend magnet"
"Why that?"
"She's just very easy to get along with for the girls. So all the parties she attended of my sisters, she made good friends. I'm not sure if they ever stayed in touch though."
"Oh then what's the use? I mean I rather have long lasting friendships." Lia says feeling better about herself "it's sad...." She says trying to add pity.
Carlos had a dull expression "I know" he sighs "it's sad"
Hearing this Lia felt less intimidated thinking Siya's probably not Carlos' favourite person. But the truth here is that, Carlos indeed mention that 'it's sad' but in his thoughts it's sad that
'She never stayed'
The next day at the airport - Abu Dhabi
Carlos finished the security check and was headed to the section where they board the private jets, along with his cousin and now his manager Carlos Onaro Sainz (let's just call him Onaro for the sake of the story and my sanity while writing)
"I didn't know dad was here last night"
"Yeah... me neither. I promised my wife that I'll spend time with her post season. So, I was barely around anything related F-1" Onaro says "Until I received a call from him saying that he'll join us on the flight back."
"Aaaghhhh! Did he say why he came all of a sudden? It wasn't like he came for the race, he came after it! Is what surprises me."
"Yeah.... He said there was a very important meeting with one of the biggest business man. Some of our stuff will be influenced by this person and apparently they are rarely available. So, a couple of people rushed to Abu Dhabi last night apparently."
