"Okay" Carlos takes in a deep breath "I'll try calling her cellphone, nothing to panic about" he assures himself looking around and finding Siya's stuff still in it.
Her phone rings and she cuts the call again, but this time the door beeps revealing Siya walking in to the apartment.
"Hey" she says calmly closing the door behind her
"Where did you go?" Carlos approaches her, all the nerves slowing easing in his body.
"To the grocery store, I wanted something to eat, and it's close to midnight to get any delivery" She places a bag of groceries on the counter, taking the items out one after another.
Carlos walks to his fridge and opens it to see if there wasn't anything, he hasn't been staying here for about 2 months now, so it's highly unlikely that there would be something ready to eat.
"It's late to go out like that Siya" he says closing the fridge "I could've got something or picked some pizza up for you. There's also bread, cheese....." he lists a couple of stuff in the fridge that could've made a good meal.
"I also wanted to have a walk outside, the weather's nice" Siya continues to place the items on the counter barely making any eye contact with him "I'm not really hungry"
"Siya" Carlos sighs
"What" she turns to face him
He looks at her face, her expression still blank, and shakes his head "Nothing, what did you get" he tries to shift the topic for the sake of his peace.
"Just some salad and a fruit bowl, there's nothing much left this late" she shrugs getting back to opening her food.
"Do you want me to make something for you?" Carlos gently places his hand around her waist standing behind her while she continues to set her food.
"No, I'm good" she smiles subtly
"You sure? I can make some bruschetta" Carlos suggests
"I can't eat that Jr." Siya reminds him "I went out to get something that I could eat" she says looking up at him over her shoulder "since you threw away the only food I could eat"
Carlos then remembers that he threw away the left over food and starts to feel a little bad.
"Not saying it's your fault or anything. I was being stubborn too. So I deserved it." She lets out a short chuckle.
"Sorry churri" he says leaning forward to place a kiss on her cheek and proceeds to hug her from the back.
"No, like I said, it's really not your fault" she takes a bite bringing the bowl upto her face, not able to lean forward, with Carlos hugging her like that "this is good!" She exclaims chewing
"You want to try?" She offers him a bite over her shoulder and he gladly accepts it, Carlos proceeds to chew with his chin still rested on Siya's shoulder making her giggle.
"Siya" he calls her out
"Hmm" she responds leaning the back of her head onto his chest after taking another bite.
"Thank you" he mumbles
"For what?"
"For not bringing an ice cream tub" he says something vague, knowing very well that the intention behind it is much deeper.
She chuckles very subtly, getting emotional on hearing it "I should be the one thanking you" she turns around and wraps her arms around his waist "for knowing that I could have brought one."
" Always remember churri, it's better when it's the two of us" he reminds her once again, not coming in way too strong into her space but still being in it, enough to let her know that she's not alone.
