Chapter 23 - Fires

Sainz family decided that they won't further try to tease and test Carlos, as he visibly got duller as the party continued.

Siya was having a chat with her aunt Maya about Adarsh while he's away, as it's their first time meeting him.

"He looks like a nice guy! I'm sure you're uncle won't have many problems with him. Not that it'll stop you from being with him but just saying" Maya mentions and they both laugh.

"I'm glad you like him, that's important! And yeah it's good for now, I'll think about Uncle George accepting him if we ever get that far" Siya clarifies

"Why? Do you think you won't get that far?"

"No, it's just" Siya shrugs "I'm not thinking too much about it"

"Okay" Maya nods "Well atleast you're not with Carlos! I was concerned when I saw you both together near the bar"

"Why? What about Carlos?" Siya asks being in total control of her emotions

"You didn't know? Apparently he cheated on Isa, even after a 7 year relationship! She's a lovely woman, very natural and smart" aunt Maya blurts out having some traits of typical aunt.

"Hmmm" Siya breaths out "I knew there were rumours but I don't know for sure" she shrugs

"I think it's true honestly, how could he move on so quick that he started dating someone else right away" Maya speaks out again.

Siya had a partial explanation from Carlos on the moving on part, but nothing about what had happened in his previous relationship.

"Eitherways, many say it's also a PR stunt, so he might actually be innocent. We never know!" Maya shrugs now seeming to be considerate.

Siya really wished she could say something to her or defend Carlos. But she didn't know for sure to be able to do that. This started bothering her.

As the night went by there weren't many people that stayed back for bonfire. Some of the Sainz relatives along with Oliver, Adarsh, Siya are all seated around the bon fire.

Carlos sits on the other side of the fire facing Siya. There were some chats going around and someone suggested that everyone should take turns speaking about the hosts.

It was fun, there were some very adorable stories that came out, some funny and some emotional.

And when it was Sainz family's turn, the kids decided to leave sweet messages to their parents, especially to Sainz Sr. Who will be going into his Dakar race soon.

Everything that happened around that bon fire was very family oriented. It showed the amazing bond that people had with their families.

It was just this morning, Siya was able get out of her unhappy thoughts, thanks to Carlos. But looking at all this, and hearing all this, it's started hurting Siya.

She was very happy for them, and tried her best to not show any disappointment, but it only kept piling up.

Carlos noticed the change in her expression, her actions and her demeanour as a whole. He was waiting for her to look at him but Siya knew she would break out if she did.

Eventually she looks up at Carlos who was visibly concerned as soon as their eyes met, Siya flashes a week smile and he smiles back assuring her that he understands.

Carlos kept his distance the whole evening, no matter how much it bothered him, because it was something that he promised to do for the sake of their relationship.

But right now, it wasn't about them, it was about Siya. He didn't want to care the least about who's watching or who's not.

And at that moment he wanted to be there for her, especially knowing how challenging it might be getting to her.
