"If my memory is correct, this is where I spent two years of my childhood" Siya says placing a hand on the main door and tracing the vines carved onto the wood.

"Here? I thought you were in London" Carlos asks, adding the information that he learnt about her in the past few days of their trip.

"Yes, when my mom and dad split. She came here with me for a couple of years before heading back. I was a toddler back then probably 3 or 4 years old" she answers him.

She knocks on the door and an elderly man opens the door. His expression was blank as he stared at Siya, Carlos takes a step ahead, closer to Siya being cautious.

"How can I help you?" The man breathes out in his very masculine voice.

"Ummm.... By any chance does Ms. Zoya work here?" Siya asks being a little nervous.

The man's expression changes into some sort of relieved shock "Yes" he keeps it short

There is wide smile on Siya's face when she looks at Carlos and turns back to him "Can I meet her please? Does anyone by the name Kalki live here?" She adds on.

The man's cold eyes have some emotions in it now after hearing the name "No and No." he swiftly tries to close the door.

Siya's instinct was to briskly put her hand between the doors and stop him, but because of the strength of the doors and the doors with which the man was closing it ends up hurting her hand.

"Agh!" She winces and the man immediately realised what has happened and stops closing the door.

"Siya" Carlos grabs her hand gently and examines it worried.

The man freezes on hearing the name of the lady that he just tried to close his doors on. He immediately gets protective looking at the boy who's holding her arm.

"Who are you?" He sneers

"Me!?" Carlos asks back

"I'm good Carlos" Siya says freeing herself

"I'm her-" he pauses a bit as he didn't have an exact answer, it definitely felt wrong when he thought of addressing him as her friend. It's short of a friendship but not too long for anything else either.

"He's my friend" Siya answers instead "May I know who you are?"

"I'm the butler of the house. I live here while Ms. Zoya comes everyday and leaves in the evening. You missed her by a couple of minutes." He answers.

"Oh...." Siya gets visibly disappointed "I guess we'll try tomorrow morning before we leave for home then." She tells Carlos.

Carlos wasn't even looking at her, he had his gaze fixed on the butler. He had a weird feeling about him.

"Well then, we'll get going" Siya says with a brisk smile and taking a step back.

"Wait..." the man stops them "How do you know Kalki?"

"Oh that..." Siya chuckles nervously "She's my mom. I believe this place belongs to her."

"Ms. Kalki's daughter? You're her daughter?" The man exclaims and Carlos wondered if he has really seen an expression on his face.

"Oh my god, madam!" He says excitedly "Please come in." He turns to his side showing his hand to the side for her to enter.

But he desperately gets in Carlos' way when he walks in bumping his shoulder.

He closes the door behind them as they were walking inside.

"I dony like him" Carlos mumbles to Siya while walking beside her.
