Beating Jealousy And Envy With Gratitude

Something God taught me is that when you start seeing the enemy tempt you to envy, be jealous or compare yourself to someone you can start by thanking God.

Envy often masks the ingratitude we have.

An example

Instead of envying that someone who got something you would like, you can pray "Lord thank you that right now you're teaching me how to be patient because I'll also get that one day"

Or you can say "Thank you Lord for your teaching humility. Help me to be humble"

Or you can pray

"thank you, Lord, for helping me learn how to be happy for others even though I'm not seeing anything special in my life"

Or

" thank you Lord for being able to display faith though I see others get what I want soon I'll receive what I need"

God hears prayers and when you make these prayers and thanks your lifestyle you'll grow to resist envy in your life. You'll turn out from someone who envies to someone thankful and always grateful for everything God does!
