[ takes place in the aftermath of garmadon's attack on ninjago city (season 9) ]

As soon as Cole spotted Lloyd, he rushed to him with a sigh. He saw the wound in his chest and was mortified. He immediately began tending to the boy's injuries, checking for a pulse and monitoring his breathing.
Lloyd was losing blood fast, he looked pale and dazed. Cole noticed the wound in the Green Ninja's chest was deep, and that it would require medical attention, but at the moment, he needed to stay with Lloyd. His breath was shallow and fast, he was gasping for air with closed eyes. His blonde hair draped over his pale face.
Cole looked around for help, and then he suddenly noticed Lloyd move.
The blonde suddenly let out a choked sob, a look of fear coming over his face. He breathed quickly and shallowly, his body trembling in pain. "Cole? A- am I going t— die?" He asked with a breathless voice. Cole's eyes widened in fright, as he shook his head. "No! You're fine buddy, hang on." He said, feeling his throat tightening with fear.
"O—oh." Lloyd began to slip away, his eyes slowly closing. Cole's heart sank, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. "Stay awake for me?" He said in desperation.
Lloyd's voice was slurred. "I think I'm gonna' need stitches." He said, with a small smirk. Cole felt the tension in his heart ease a bit at the small joke. "I would say that's pretty darn obvious there greenie," he gave a slight laugh. Cole gingerly rested Lloyd's head in his lap and immediately held him in a safe manner, making sure of his comfort. His gi almost looked like Kai's now.
"Hey, remember all those pranks you threw when we first took you in?"
"Yeah, that was pretty great."
Cole snuffed. "I'd say. You ruined my chili and cooking career." Lloyd's face was brought up into a shaky smile. "It was for the best."
They both laughed, trying to take their mind away from the pain and horror around them. But the laughing died out as they heard the sound of a helicopter approaching. Cole picked up Lloyd and headed towards the helicopter. The blonde mumbled something incoherent, that sounded like "Thank you," but, Cole couldn't tell.
Before he reached the helicopter, he looked down, Lloyd was already gone.
