There he sat in the Monastery courtyard. Alone, and reading a small hardcover book. Harumi slowly approached the bench where he sat.
"Hey," she said under her breath. Lloyd glanced up from his book. He gave a shaky smile. "Oh, hey."

"Can we talk?" She said as she took a seat next to him.
He flipped a page of his book. "What about?"

"You know what. Everything?"

Lloyd finally closed the book, setting it aside as he turned to face Harumi. The air between them held a tension. He sighed. "Everything's a lot to cover."

Harumi nodded, her gaze fixed on the ground.
She could feel his eyes on her. She couldn't look at him. She felt a lump in her throat. Her tears were threatening to spill. He was right, everything was a lot to cover. She let out a shaky breath.
Lloyd looked on curiously at Harumi, his gaze full of empathy. She looked at him, finally making eye contact.
She opened her mouth to speak, but no words would come out. The look in his eyes was reassuring. He continued to look at her.

Harumi took another deep breath, the air felt heavy around them. She spoke softly, her head still lowered.
"I'm so sorry for everything that I've done. I know I'm not being specific, but I'm sorry for all the pain and hurt I've caused you. I'm so sorry for breaking your trust and your love."

Lloyd's gaze was unwavering. He looked at her sympathetically. He took in a shallow inhale, and then let it out slowly.
She lowered her gaze again, feeling guilt wash over her.
He shifted, and his expression sobered. "That subject is still very sensitive to me. It's a very painful topic."
Harumi nodded her head, still not looking at him. "I know."

"I'm sorry for letting you love me. I don't deserve to be loved. I don't deserve you. I don't deserve everything that you've done for me."

Lloyd listened as she spoke with a careful expression. He reached his hand out and took hers in his. He squeezed it lightly. The two fell silent, taking in the moment. Harumi's heart raced, her emotions mixed together. Love, guilt, relief.
Lloyd traced his fingers over her hand. Harumi's heart skipped another beat and her breath caught in her throat.
He squeezed her hand again, his touch sweet. It felt like he was soothing something deep within her. Like he understood her emotions, even though she had never explained them.

It felt right.

"It will take time for me to truly forgive you. It will be a journey. But I want to take that journey, to heal both of us." Lloyd said as he continued tracing patterns against her hand.
"I saw your Oni form," she said softly.

Lloyd's expression shifted, and he looked away. He tried to change the subject, but she was persistent.
"How does it work?" she said, pressing for answers.
He stayed silent, and she took that as a sign of reluctance to talk about it. But she pressed on anyway.

"Tell me."

Lloyd pulled his hand away. "It starts out simple. I get angry and then it slowly starts to pulsate through my body. My head starts to pound, vision begins to blur, and then next thing I know, it's like I black out. Then I come to, and I'm surrounded by purple or in Oni form. It's almost like I have no control."

Harumi rested her head on his shoulder. "You're perfect just the way you are."

It made his heart do a somersault.

He wrapped his arm around her, drawing her closer. Their breath fell into sync as they sat together. It was peaceful and calm, a contrast to the intense conversation they had just been having. In that moment, Lloyd was content.
He wrapped his other arm around her, holding her even more close. She was perfect just the way she was as well.

Harumi looked at Lloyd; her eyes locked with his. It felt like everything else fell away and only the two of them remained.
She leaned in closer, inching towards him. Her lips were only a centimetre away, and she could feel his breath on her skin. She could feel his heartbeat as it pounded.

Then their lips met. They leaned in towards each other, their bodies pressed together. It was a passionate kiss, filled with desire and want. The heat in their bodies grew hotter and hotter until their breath rose and fell quickly.

It felt like she was one with him.

Jay stepped outside, his breath fogging in the air. He looked around, trying to ease his boredom. To his surprise, he saw Harumi and Lloyd kissing on the bench.
He squinted as he watched them, unsure of what to say. He felt a little strange intruding on such a personal moment, but he couldn't look away.

"Since when did those two make up?" Kai whispered.
"Since when did you start sneaking up on me? Go away." Jay whispered a little more harsh in response.

Lloyd and Harumi's kiss continued but stopped when he suddenly heard a noise. They broke apart, and Jay stepped out from behind a tree. Harumi blushed deeply, covering her face with her hands.
Lloyd froze, his hand still around Harumi's. A fire was building inside him, and he turned towards Jay.
"Dude, what are you doing here?" he barked, his tone sharp and clipped.

Jay jumped back, startled by Lloyd's sudden anger. He tried to cover his shock with a joke.
"Just out for a late night walk," he chuckled nervously, backing up and holding his hands up defensively.

Harumi stayed silent, still covering her face. She was embarrassed by their exchange. She just wanted everything to go back to normal. She lowered her hands, her cheeks still warm and red.
Jay kept backing up, afraid of the situation. "Do you, uh, need some private time or something?"

Harumi and Lloyd looked at each other. "You're kidding, right?" He said, his face straight.

"Anyways! Have fun kids!"
