They laid in bed together, not wanting the moment to ever end. Matt and Casey had been apart for six whole months with zero communication. When he saw her at his door he felt all the life return to his body. He had been shutting down after hearing the news that Walker was behind everything and Casey was stuck at the Nest with him. Now, he had his fire back and he was ready to fight again.
Casey rested her head on his bare chest as Matt rubbed her back. She had her bare leg draped over his as she listened to his heart beating. They took turns filling each other in on what had happened over the last few months. Casey told him all about the Nest and how Walker made it seem like the Chosen Ones were gods, and how the kids treated them like celebrities.
She told him about the army of orphaned kids he had been training and the army of guards already in place, all military trained. She hurried past the part about the beating she took at the hands of thirty of them, for fear she would upset him too much. She told him about Sam and how she brought her back with her.
Lastly, she filled him in on Walker's dungeon of horrors. How the monsters were genetically created in his laboratories, and how he unleashed those monsters on the unsuspecting kids right before Casey made her escape, slaughtering them all.
When it was Matt's turn he started with admitting they never really stopped protecting Tyler, how right after Casey left they had to ward off random attacks, something Jenna never mentioned to Casey.
He told her about the monsters that hunted them down, meeting Mama Q, Gab sacrificing herself, and Tyler killing the final creature in a standoff in the forest. He finished with Thomas Weller showing up at his doorstep.
It was a lot to digest for both of them. Matt traced some of Casey's scars on her face. The thought of her being jumped by the soldiers there didn't sit well with him. He would kill them all if he ever got the chance. He swore to it.
"I hate what they did to you." He told her."It doesn't matter now." She replied. "I'm here now. I'm with you, and I'm never leaving again."
She turned and kissed him. All the sickness she felt while she was away from him at the Nest was gone now."Hey, there's something I need to tell you. I should have told you a long time ago...." Matt said, nervously.
"You slept with Jenna." Casey said.
Matt was speechless. He started to speak but stumbled over his words."She told me. I understand it was before we met. Should you have told me? Yeah. But it's over now. Me and Jenna talked it out and moved past it." Casey explained. "Okay?"
"Yes. My God, yes." He said. Thankfully.
She laughed and kissed him. "I know you're mine.... And I'm yours......forever."
"I love you so much." He said, kissing her again, longer this time."As much as I'd like to stay in bed with you all day, I think we should meet the others." Matt said. "They'll be waiting for us."
"Nooooo." Casey groaned, smiling.
Matt kissed her again before he got up and headed to the bathroom where he hopped in the shower.Casey joined him seconds later. He washed her gently, careful he didn't rub too hard over all her cuts and bruises. Her side was black and blue from her broken ribs, and her right hand was bruised and her knuckles scabbed over. If it was anyone else they would be in terrible pain. Not to say she wasn't uncomfortable, but Casey was just able to take it better than most. She closed her eyes and let Matt wash all her memories away.
