Chapter 10: Yes or No

Jin noticed that Jungkook's smile did not fade away even after Jimin and Tae drove off. Jungkook wished Jin and Joon for the night and made his way to his room. He wanted to check for any updates from Yeonjun before retiring for the night. He sat in front of his laptop at his desk and started typing away unconsciously humming the tune of Sweet Night. Jin was walking past his room and stopped at the door when he heard Jungkook's voice. 'Wait a minute is Kook singing? But I've never heard that song before,' Jin thought to himself as he slowly walked into Jungkook's room. "That's a lovely tune," Jin said as he placed his hand on Jungkook's shoulder, startling him. "Huh?" Jungkook looked around, "What tune?" "The one you were just humming," Jin probed. "Oh that?" Jungkook replied, "You heard that? It was the song that Tae hyung sang this afternoon. I don't remember all the lyrics but I really liked the melody." "Hmmm," Jin mumbled, "Don't work too late Kook. Go to bed soon." "Okay. Good night, Jin hyung," Jungkook said as he watched Jin leave his room and shut the door behind him. He scanned through his emails and then went to bed.

Jin checked on Tahee before going to his room. He couldn't get Jungkook's smile and carefree humming out of his mind. He walked into his room and closed the door while being lost in thought. He walked towards the bathroom and didn't realize that Joon had just opened the door. They collided into each other with Joon holding onto Jin to keep him from falling. "What's on your mind?" Joon questioned, staring at his husband's surprised face and slowly steadying him to his feet. Jin suddenly hugged Joon and mumbled into his neck, "I'm so happy Jonnie! Our Kook is becoming cheerful again. He's smiling and I just caught him humming! Kook is slowly letting Tae in." Joon smiled and hugged his husband tighter, "Yes Jinnie. I saw it too. I think Tae really likes him. I'm happy too!" Jin slowly let go and stepped back only to see his husband's adorable dimpled smile. "Are you truly okay if Kook falls in love with someone else?" Jin suddenly asked.

Joon thought for a moment before replying, "Yugi wouldn't want Kook to be lonely. He would have wanted him to be happy and perhaps even find someone to love. I think of him as my brother rather than my brother-in-law and I really want him to find his happiness." Jin placed his hand on Joon's cheek slowly bringing his face close and placed a tender kiss on his lips. Jin knew that Joon loved his brother dearly and losing him so abruptly was hard on him. When Yugi decided to propose to Jungkook after dating him just for a few months, Joon embraced him wholeheartedly. After Yugi's unfortunate accident when Jungkook was getting blamed, Joon stood up for him silencing everyone. Not once did he harbor any ill will towards Jungkook, but rather enveloped him with more love especially when he became depressed following Yugi's sudden demise. Jin was proud to have such an understanding and kind hearted husband.

The next morning in the Kim household was just like any other. Jungkook got Tahee ready while Jin and Joon got ready for the day. At the breakfast table, Jin helped feed Tahee while Jungkook gave him updates about the Banquet while Joon listened in. "Seems like everything will be finalized today," Jin stated, "Let's all meet with Hobi before lunch and then head out to lunch together." "Sounds good Jin hyung," Jungkook replied. "Are you all done with breakfast Baby?" Joon asked after finishing his own meal. "Yes Dada," Tahee replied, finishing up the last of his banana milk. "All right then," Joon said, making his way to help Tahee get down from his chair, "Wait in the car, I'll drop you." Tahee quickly got his bag and ran towards Joon's car while waving at Jin and Jungkook. "Jinnie, are you coming along too?" Joon asked before grabbing his things and heading out. "No Joonie," Jin said, "I'll come on my own. I have some errands to run this afternoon so you go ahead." Joon left after giving his husband a kiss on his forehead. Jin and Jungkook left soon after in their respective cars.

"Breakfast is ready!" Tae called out from the kitchen. Jimin made his way into the kitchen and was surprised to see that Tae had cooked. "Where did the sun rise from today?" Jimin commented as he surveyed the food made by his soulmate, "It all looks and smells delicious, Bear!" "I had to learn to cook for myself when I was in New York," Tae replied, "Dig in. I already ate. I'll go get ready." "Why are you in such a rush this morning, Bear?" Jimin teased, "Can't wait to meet someone?" "What? No. Stop," Tae whined, "Jin hyung sent me a text this morning. He wants to meet with all of us at 9 and I don't want to be late." "Oh," Jimin mumbled, "All right then, I'll hurry." 'Why didn't hyung send me a text too?,' Jimin wondered. Soon he was done with breakfast and both of them headed to the office. They ran into Jin in the lobby. "Good Morning Chim! Good morning Tae!" Jin greeted. "Good morning Jin hyung," Jimin answered. "Good morning Jin hyung," Tae replied, "Where's Kook?" "Oh Kook?" Jin replied, "He's in the coffee shop. Why don't you help him with the drinks?" Tae immediately walked into the coffee shop leaving Jin and Jimin behind.
