Chapter 17: Home

"Good morning, Kookie!" Tae said as soon as he saw Jungkook's smiling face when he answered the video call. "Good morning to you too, Tae hyungie!" Jungkook greeted Tae. "So, since we're not going to the office today, do you have any plans?" Tae quizzed. "Nothing really. I mean just dropping and picking up Tahee from kindergarten," Jungkook explained, "Why? Did you need my help with something?" "I do need your help with something very important," Tae responded, "Only you can help me ensure that I have a good day." "Me?" Jungkook questioned with surprise, "How?" "By being the first person I see in the morning. By being the first person I talk to in the morning," Tae acknowledged, "Kookie, I don't know what you've done to me but you're all I can think about from the time I close my eyes to the moment I open them and every moment in between. I am completely smitten!" Tae's honest admission made the butterflies in Jungkook's stomach flutter uncontrollably. He could feel the depth of Tae's emotions in the depths of his heart and felt his cheeks slowly heat up. "Would you... ah... like to meet for breakfast, Tae hyung?" Jungkook gently asked, "I can pick you up after I drop Tahee." "I would love to," Tae happily agreed, "I'll go get ready. See you soon, Kookie." Jungkook smiled and then hung up.

'How did I get so lucky?' Jungkook thought to himself, 'He adores me. Me. Me of all people!' He smiled as he made his way back to the dining table. "That huge smile on your face can only mean one thing - you've got plans with Tae. Am I right?" Jin teased with a smirk. "Jinnie! Stop teasing him!" Joon advised noticing Jungkook's bright red cheeks and ears. "I'm meeting Tae hyung for breakfast after dropping off Tahee," Jungkook divulged while trying to hide how giddy he was feeling. "Don't worry about Tahee," Jin stated, "We'll take care of that. You go get ready for your breakfast date with Tae!" "Wait a minute," Joon said as he looked between Jin and Jungkook, "Is this their first date? Does last evening count as a date?" "Technically no," Jin thought for a moment and then answered seriously, facing his husband, "I think last night was their confession so I guess this will be their first official date." Jungkook looked at his hyungs in complete shock, 'Are they seriously going to talk about Tae hyungie and me like I'm not even in the room?' "Hyung!" Jungkook grumbled, "Please stop! This isn't a date! We're just meeting for breakfast." He didn't wait for their retort. Instead he quickly made his way to his room to get ready for his not-a-date with Tae.

"I'm so happy for him Joonie!" Jin squealed watching Jungkook disappear into his room, "He's finally experiencing the happiness that he deserves." Joon nodded as he watched over Tahee eating his breakfast. Just then Jin's phone started ringing. He looked over and saw that it was Yoongi calling. 'Hello Yoongi,' Jin answered, 'Are you back in Korea?' 'Hello Jin hyung,' Yoongi replied, 'Not yet. I'm actually on the way to the airport. I called because I was wondering if we could meet for dinner tonight.' 'Tonight?' Jin questioned, 'Won't you be tired after your flight? I figured you'd want to spend time with Chim.' 'I'll be spending all of tomorrow with him, hyung,' Yoongi replied, 'I wanted to talk to all of you about the Busan warehouse. Next week my schedule is packed so it would great if we could meet tonight.' 'Okay,' Jin agreed, 'That's fine. We can meet tonight. I'll make sure Kook and Tae join as well.' 'Great hyung,' Yoongi replied, 'Speaking of Tae and Kook, is it true? Are they a couple now?' 'Yes Yoongiah!' Jin explained, 'They finally confessed their feelings to each other! Can you believe it?' 'That's fantastic,' Yoongi agreed, 'I'll congratulate them when I see them tonight. All right Jin hyung, I have to go now. Jiminah is calling. See you all tonight!'

"Uugh!" Jimin protested while standing by Tae's bedroom door, "I didn't realize you'd be this clingy, Bear. Did you seriously have to video call Kook the moment you woke up?" Jimin had overheard the latter part of Tae's conversation with Jungkook. "No one asked you to snoop, shirty!" Tae retorted as he got off the bed and rummaged through his closet. "Hey! I was not snooping," Jimin immediately declared as he made his way to the kitchen, "I just wanted to call you for breakfast but I guess since you already have breakfast plans, I'll be eating on my own." "Not for long!" Tae yelled from the bathroom, "Isn't Yoongi hyung flying back today?" "Yes," Jimin answered while eating his breakfast, "His flight lands this afternoon. That reminds me, I need to make sure his fridge is stocked and his apartment is clean. Bear, I'll most probably be having dinner with him. So don't wait for me. If it gets too late, I may just stay over at his place." Tae quickly finished his morning routine and got dressed. He checked his phone and noticed that he had a message from Jungkook - 'I'm on my way. See you in 20 minutes. <3' 'Can't wait! <3' - Tae replied.
