Chaper TwentyFive: Hydra

ADAM
"Next stop is...... some temple in Tennessee...." Leo said.
"Right. So, Adam, Nico, Oliver, Percy, and I will go," Annabeth said.
Oliver rolled his eyes. "You know, you could've just said Leo, Piper, Maddy, and Kaycee are staying behind. Would've been shorter."
"Only one person shorter."
"Still shorter."
"Really you two?" Maddy sighed.
I smiled.
Annabeth sighed in defeat. "Ok.... lets just go."
I hopped up from my seat and walked next to Oliver as we unboarded the ship.
"So.... you really hate Percy and Annabeth....?" I asked and Oliver shrugged.
"Percy is a snobbish son of the sea god, and Annabeth isn't much better," he said bitterly.
I nodded, but had a feeling something had happened without me knowing.
"So..... what do you think we're looking for?" I then asked.
Oliver shrugged. "Dunno."
"You're awfully quiet today...." I noted. "Are you ok?"
Oliver set his jaw. "Just peachy."
"What's wrong?"
His gaze hardened. "Nothing. Don't worry about it."
"But I just want to help."
"I said don't worry about it, ok?!" he snapped and I stopped walking.
"Adam... I'm sorry....." he said. "I didn't mean anything........"
I looked at the ground, then at him. "It's ok....." I said quietly. "Just, let me know when you want to talk about it." I ran past the group and into the temple. I leaned against one of the marble collums.
"Are you ok?"
I saw Nico coming closer.
"Y-Yea......" I said while slightly blushing.
"Well, I saw you rush over here, so I was just curious if you were ok."
I nodded. "I'm fine. Just worried...."
"Why?"
".......Something happened between Oliver and Percy, I know it. I just don't know what."
"I heard them talking..... don't know what about though....."
"Alright. We gotta hide until night. We can look then," Percy said and Oliver stayed quiet for a change.
We all went to the boy's bathroom, even Annabeth, and hid in different stalls.

After a few hours of waiting, all the mortals left. I carefully hopped off the toilet I was standing on and opened the stall. I looked around and saw everyone else out of their stalls.
"Ok, be careful. Last time, we ran into the hydra," Percy said as we walked to the main room. There were several men in blue suits that were cleaning up the main room. There was a huge statue of Athena with a gold crown on her head.
"Ok..... I got this," Annabeth said and pulled out a mini crossbow and darts. She then shot the guys.
"Why'd you do that? They're innocent blue collar Americans!" I yelled and Oliver and Nico smiled. Percy and Annabeth glared at me.
"They're just knocked out," Percy said bitterly. "C'mon. Lets look."
I sighed and looked around the statue. Nothing.
There was a yellow sparrow flying around an I smiled. Oliver.
Nico was looking by me, Percy was at the other end, and Annabeth looked by him.
"Demigods."
I turned looked at Nico. "What was that?"
He shrugged and I turned back to he statue.
"We've been expecting you."
I looked in the direction of the voice and saw the workers standing in a perfectly straight row.
"Not again...." Percy groaned.
"Uhh....." Oliver was now standing next to me and looking at the guys.
The guy in the middle coughed, and fire shot out of his mouth. Oliver paled.
The guys faces then began to melt. And the rest of them too. They all combined together and formed a giant lizard-like monster with 7 heads.
"Hydra...." Nico breathed next to me. I gulped.
One of the heads roared and the hydra charged at Oliver, Nico, and I. Oliver ran one way, and Nico ran the other. One head nipped at me and I yelped, its teeth scraping my leg.
"Hold on Adam!" Oliver yelled.
"I'll try!" I yelled back as the hydra head snapped at me again, but it didn't get me.
"Hey! Lizard!!!" Nico yelled and threw a rock at it. It hit the head that was nipping at me and it turned to Nico and charged at him.
I saw something gold around the hydra's neck as it turned away from me. It was a lyre on a gold chain....
Which belonged to Apollo!
Oliver helped Nico, but froze when the middle head breathed fire. Percy and Annabeth were no where to be seen. Cowards.
"Oliver....." Nico said cautiously as the middle head roared. "Oliver!"
It blew a giant stream of fire that would've hit Oliver if Nico hadn't pushed him out of the way.
I felt something in my pocket and pulled out a gold watch. There was a button on the side and I pushed it and my watch turned into a golden knife with a simple leather grip.
"Adam! Watch out!"
I looked up and was hit by something. I landed on the floor with a loud "oomph," and had the wind knocked out of me.
As I slowly regained my breath, the hydra must've got bored of Oliver and Nico because it was now charging at me.
I gulped and scooted back until the wall stopped me. It was gonna eat me. I knew it. I looked up and into the eyes of the hydra.
It froze, and slowly was turning into............ stone............
I didn't know how, but I didn't look away until it was completely transformed. Besides, I couldn't.
"How did you........?" Oliver asked as he and Nico walked over.
Thankfully, the lyre wasn't stone. I slowly stood and walked to the hydra's neck and pulled it off by breaking the chain.
"Apollo," I said and showed them the lyre. Oliver cracked a smile and hugged me tightly.
"My little Adam is growing up so fast!" He happily exclaimed as he squeezed the breaths out that I managed inside of me.
"Can't.......... Breathe........." I managed and he let go. Now I have to regain my breathing AGAIN!
"How did you do that?!" Nico exclaimed and I shrugged.
"That was pretty cool though."
"Yea," is all I said.
"So..... lets get to the ship before you hyperventilate," Oliver said. "Can you walk?"
"Think so."
He nodded and we began the trip back to the Argo II.

Hola! Ok, so, this story is nearing the end. But........ my guess is that there's gonna be possibly 40 chapters...... but that's how awesome all you readers are!!!!!
