Chapter Fifteen: Arai

OLIVER
The gods really hate me today. I was running from the person who heard me when the first monster fell from the sky. I halted and stared at it as I turned into myself, wearing my armor and helmet. I grabbed a dagger from my belt and grew it to a full-length sword. It was a snake lady that I saw in my dreams. Not good.
I was about to kill it when a sword blade passed through it, revealing Percy. He stood there, but suddenly doubled over in pain.
"What was that?!" I asked him.
We're arai, spirits of curses! Percy has killed Phineas with gorgon's blood and he's now feeling the pain. A voice that seemed to come from everywhere said.
Percy fell to the ground. A bunch of arai surrounded him and I. One lunged at me as I cut through it. My energy instantly felt drained.
Percy cursed you when you defeated him in the play battle an the Argo II. You drained his energy and he couldn't move. The weird voice said again. I instantly disliked Percy even more. I killed another arai that was about to kill Percy.
You have killed one of us that was meant for Percy, so you will feel the pain for him.
I saw Maddy walking towards me. "Oliver!" she called and ran over as my eye started twitching. Really? Maddy was next to me and was immediately surrounded as well.
"Did you bring anything?" I asked her.
"Uh............" I glared at her.
"Just help Percy!" I said. She looked at him, who was now pale and laying on the ground. She placed her hand on his chest and muttered something in Greek. Her eyes started to glow golden and Percy's face returned to its natural color. He sat up. I turned around and my head almost got cut off. I killed the arai and Maddy started to frantically look around.
"Oliver? where are you?" She worriedly asked.
"I'm right here," I reached out to grab her, but she disappeared and showed up a couple feet away.
"Uh.......... I might've meet Calypso," Percy said as he stood up with his sword. I saw a tree branch above me and I jumped up and grabbed it.
"C'mon!" I yelled while poking an arai with a sword.
"Uh......." Percy stuttered.
"C'mon!" I yelled and reached out my hand. He took it and I pulled him up enough so he could grip he branch. I hooked my legs onto the branch and grabbed Maddy's hands, which mine passed right through.
"Percy!" Annabeth yelled and I saw her running closer. Idiot.
Maddy appeared at the outside of the arai circle.
"Maddy!" I yelled. I jumped off of the tree and ran towards her. Something came and rammed into me. My helmet went flying and my armor retracted. It must've hit my bracelets.
"Hellhound!" Percy yelled after I was pinned by it.
"It would've been nice to know that a few seconds ago," I said. The hellhound growled and almost bit my neck, but I dodged it.
"You know, it would be a lot easier to get up if someone haven't cursed me!" I yelled at Percy as I dodged another attack.
"I'm sorry!" Percy yelled as he kicked a arai in the face.
"What was that?" I yelled as attempted to get up again.
"I'm sorry!" he yelled louder.
"WHAT?!?!?!"
"I'M SORRY FOR CURSING YOU!!!!!!!" He yelled on the top of his lungs. I instantly felt strength and adrenaline run through my veins. I pushed the hellhound off of me and cut its head off. I ran towards Maddy, who was staring at me.
"Oliver! You came back!!" she yelled as she hugged me. I hugged her back and turned into a lion.
"Get into that tree," I growled. I ran towards the arai and tackled all of them. I felt a glare from Percy as he hopped down the tree.
"You ok?" Annabeth rushed over and hugged Percy. I mentally threw up.
"He's perfectly fine. I was the one who took all the damage," I growled as I turned back into myself. Percy glared at me more.
I felt someone hugging me from behind and it looked to see who it was.
"Hey," I said as I smiled at Maddy and hugged her back.
"C'mon, lets go," Percy grumbled and headed to the area where the red team's base for capture-the-flag was.
