In Which Everyone Thinks Alfred and Ivan Like Each Other, No One Likes Gilbert, Gilbert doesn't Like Ivan, And Alfred Is Very, Very, Upset.

Alfred was on the warpath, which was making it especially hard for his classmates to get him to make up with Ivan. Ivan, after hearing Alfred's outraged shout echo down the hall, was conveniently avoiding Alfred, happily gloating to hear Alfred's furious demands to talk to Ivan whenever he entered a room Ivan had conveniently just left.

Unfortunately, they were the only two people in the school who thought that Alfred sounded angry. To the myriad of classmates watching the pair like it was a soap opera, it appeared as though the heartbroken Ivan was tearfully escaping before his ex-lover burst desperately on the scene, (for some reason glittering like a character from twilight), and calling after Ivan.

And as for Gilbert, Alfred's best friend was sulking after getting the stinkeye from anyone who was forced to deal with the trail of glitter Alfred left streaming behind him wherever he went or moved. Gilbert had tried to defend himself, of course, when he was blamed for the glitter incident, and he'd tried to point the accusing looks in the direction of the real perpetrator, Ivan. All that had earned him was the new title of "Attempted home-wrecker" and "jerk who tries to ruin his best friend's relationship".

It was also at this point when everyone chose to remember the rumour that had spread due to Alfred's bad phrasing when he first confronted Gilbert out ditching him at Ivan's house. That is too say, the rumour that it was Gilbert who caused Alfred and Ivan to break up.

That's why Gilbert was sulking as he leaned back on his chair with his feet on the desk as he complained.

"It's not fair! Why am I being blamed for something I didn't do! And why wouldn't I have taken credit for such an awesome prank? If I'm going to be blamed for it, I'd rather have actually done it at least!"

Gilbert poured out his complaints unto the unwilling ears of his listener and Ivan stared blankly back at Gilbert, too confused to decided if he was annoyed by Gilbert's presence, voice, and overall complaints, or if he was amused by the whole situation.

"This is all your fault!"

Gilbert ended crankily, slamming his feet back off the desk and onto the floor as his seat suddenly tipped forward with the force of his movement. Ivan stiffened, but didn't flinch, coming to a conclusion on how he felt. It was definitely annoyed. His annoyance only grew when Gilbert made a threatening demand.

"You'd better get together with Alfred, and do it quick, because I'm sick of being accused of being the side chick!"

As everyone in the room whipped around to stare at Gilbert and Ivan, Ivan remembered why he didn't like Gilbert, and Gilbert already knew why he didn't like Ivan. Alfred, still covered in glitter, knew very well why he didn't like Ivan, and about to hear the rumours of how Gilbert was demanding Ivan date him when he would enter the classroom (just barely missing Ivan leaving it) was about to figure out that he might not like Gilbert very much either.
