In Which Alfred and Ivan Are Getting Married (I Heard This From A Reliable Source
"Dude, we gotta tell them!"
"Nyet!"
"Ivan! If my brothers find out I'm "getting married" from someone else instead of me, they'll kill me! They your sisters will make you marry my corpse!"
"Then I will marry your corpse."
"Ivan!"
"Nyet, you can only blame yourself. You are the one who told Yao's whole family that we are getting married!"
"Yeah, but you're the one who told your sisters that to start with!"
Alfred might have considered himself extremely lucky that no one happened to be out for a walk late at night and overheard their conversation, which would make the situation so much worse. Not that Alfred d was currently thinking about it, but the next morning or so, he might have been grateful if that was the case. He might have been, if that was the case.
It wasn't, and Alfred would grow to regret this fact.
Feliks, a good friend of Toris, but mostly known as the head gossiper of the whole school, more so even than Francis, clapped a manicured hand over his mouth, eyes shining with the sudden news he'd just heard, then almost instantly began to type into his group chat, while humming a wedding March. In different houses across town, phones began to chime and vibrate.
Toris checked his phone and dropped it with a gasp, and Natalya, who was tolerating his presence because he was the only who didn't avoid her because he was scared, stopped her rant about Alfred being too scared to Propose to her big brother, and looked at him curiously.
"What is it?"
Francis, who was scrolling through the recent gossip groups before bed, froze, then squealed, then dialed Arthur, currently typing up an assignment for his college course. Arthur answered in obvious irritation.
"What?"
Feliciano, who sleeping over at Ludwig's house, in the same bed, despite the empty guest rooms, was woken up by the constant dings, and reached for his phone to check. A moment later he cried out with joy and surprise, then started shaking Ludwig, who was trying his best to stay asleep next to him.
"Luddy, Luddy, guess what!"
Finally, Ludwig woke up reluctantly, and gave Feliciano a blearly-eyed exhausted look.
"What is it?"
Ivan felt a shiver go across his spine, like a foreboding sense, and Alfred remained pleasantly oblivious as three different people in three different house, all said the same words at the same time.
"Alfred and Ivan are getting married!"
Ivan shivered, and Alfred gave him a pitying look.
"What are you cold? Aren't you like originally from Russia? How are you already cold?"
Ivan gave Alfred a cold look, refusing the sweater Alfred tried to offer him. Alfred shrugged his sweater back on.
"Your loss!"
The two parted ways, both blissfully unaware of the storm awaiting them when they got home.
Gilbert, who really should have been asleep, but was up late working on rewiring the Roomba, suddenly snapped back to reality when he heard Feliciano's loud declaration thst he could even hear from the kitchen. Then Gilbert almost dropped his Roomba, feeling like his veins turned to ice.
"Alfred is doing what?"
Gilbert reached for his phone and dialled Alfred. Alfred, having just opened the door to his house to see Arthur glaring at him with a strange pained expression Alfred had never seen before, did not pick up.
"Alfred, we need to talk."
Alfred turned pale.
