Helplessly Drowning To You

Chapter 3

I was heavily breathing at ramdam ko ang pananakit ng katawan ko, I have injuries from those guys. They're doing human trafficking and my little sister and I became a victim.

"Ate are you okay?" Hera said, my little sister. I didn't answer. I just hugged her tight as my tears fell from my eyes.

"Makakabalik rin tayo kina mama, it's okay." I comfort her.

"Nasaan na yung dalawang bubwit na yon?! Ang ta-tanga nyo naman kase mag bantay. Bata na nga lang natakasan pa kayo?! Hanapin nyo ang mga bwiset na yon!" I trembled.
Nagkalat ang mga ito at lalo akong kinabahan nang makita ang isa sa mga itong lumapit sa pinag tataguan namin ni Hera. We're hiding behind the three. Naramdaman ko ang panginginig ng katawan ni Hera so I hug her tighter.

Napahinga ako ng maluwag nang  makitang lumagpas samin ang lalaki but I was shock when he suddenly looked back. Napatitig ako rito, he's on his 30s at may tattoo ito sa kanang braso, tulad ng mga kasamahan nito. Ilang segundo pa ang nakalipas bago nag process sakin ang pangyayari.

"Run!" I said at hinila si Hera dahil mukang nagulat parin ito.

We run, and run, and run. Hindi na ako makahinga ng maayos pero ayaw kong sumuko, ayaw kong mapahamak ko si Hera. Kasalanan ko naman kase kung bakit kami nandito ngayon, kung hindi ko lang sana pinagbigyan si Hera sa gusto nyang magpunta sa playground, kung sana'y nasa hospital parin sya ngayon, nagpapahinga imbes na sinusubukang tumakas palayo sa mga masasamang tao. It was our second attempt to escape and I hope, this time we can successfully do it.

Nakikita ko na ang liwanag na nagmumula sa street lights ng kalsada. Hope and desperation filled my heart but those hope shattered when Hera fell. Kumawala ang kapit nito sa kamay ko. She winced.
Napatingin ako sa humahabol samin at nanindig ang balahibo ko nang makitang napakarami nilang humahabol samin.

"Hera stand up!" Naiiyak kong ani. "Malapit na tayong makawala so please stand up!" I was so desperate.

Napatingin ako rito ng makitang hindi ito nagalaw. Doon lamang ako napatitig kay Hera. She was bathing with her own blood. Dilat ang mata nito. She was shot.

"N-no... No!!" Napabangon ako. My classmates look at me weirdly. Napalibot ang paningin ko at napagtanto ko na nasa classroom pala ako.

"Ayos ka lang?" Thara asked. Napatingin ako sa kamay kong nanginginig.

No... I'm not okay. "Yeah... I'm fine." I lied. Dala ang bag ko, lumabas ako ng room. I didn't even tell her kung san ako pupunta. I want to go to bathroom, dahil wala namang masyadong tao don but it's on the first floor and I'm currently on the fourth floor so I went to Rooftop instead, kailang ko rin kase ng sariwang hangin.

Nag tungo ako sa rooftop. Some student were greeting me and some wants to build a conversation with me but talking to anyone isn't a good idea. I'm panicking and I'm  afraid kaya dire-diretso lamang akong nagtungo sa rooftop, hindi pinapansin ang estudyanteng bumabati sakin. I know, I may look snob but I dont care. They can judge me however they want because I know what I'm doing and they don't. Nang makarating roon ay agad kong hinalungkat ang bag ko. I'm still shaking. Ramdam ko ang takot sa katawan ko.

Nanginginig ang mga kamay ko nang kumuha ako ng isang tablet saka ininom ito. Napapikit ako ng maramdamang unti-unting kumalma ang pakiramdam ko. When I open my eyes, I saw a man with those ocean blue eyes, standing in the corner, watching me. Gulat akong napatingin tingin rito. When he saw my reaction a small smirk appear on his red lips.

Napatitig lamang ako rito at ganon rin ang ginawa nya. He just staring at me from a far. Naka upo ito at nakasandal ang likod sa pader hang ang isang kamay nito ay nakatukod sa isang papa nya and he unbelievably look so handsome especially with those naughty smirk on his lip! While me, well, I'm sure that I look pathetic right now. Gosh! This is so embarrassing.

I cleared my throat, trying to break my awkward situation. "I—Im sorry, I didn't know that there's people in here. I didn't mean to disturb you, I'm really soory." I said and I unknowingly regret saying it as soon as he stand up and walk towards me, without breaking our eye contact.

He crouched para magkapantay kami and my heart beats fast nang ilang metrong nagkalayo ang muka namin. I feel those butterfly inside me.
Nakatitig lamang ako sa mga asul na mata nito. Those eyes seem so calm yet dangerous, like an ocean.

"Stop apologizing, Claire." His voice is so manly, it is so attractive, tila nangaakit and just like his eyes, his voice is so calm yet dangerous. Nakangising ito nang sabihin nya ang mga katagang iyon dahilan upang mapatingin ako sa labi nya and when he noticed where I'm looking, his grin widened and it cause me blushing from embarrassment.

Confusion was drawn into my face when I realize that he mentioned my name, I'm sure that we never had a conversation before and we only met  twice well, today is the thrice.

"You know me?" I confusely asked.

"Ofcourse, who wouldn't know someone like you inside this university. You're popular, Claire." Anito. I notice a different accent when he say those sentence.
Nakatitig lamang ako rito, I don't what to say after his words. So I just stare into his eyes.

"Kier!" Napatingin ako sa pintuan nang bumukas iyon. Bumungad sa mata ko si Jay. He roamed his eyes and when his eyes stop on is ay tila natigilan sya. I look at Kier again and I was surprised when I saw him still staring at me. I blush and I know that I look like a tomato right now.

"Hey Kier! Are you bullying her?!" Frustrated na ani ni Jay. That's when I realized our current position. Naka upo ako sa sahig habang ang ibang gamit ko ay nagkalat sa sahig dahil sa panginginig at pagmamadali ko kanina while Kier is crouching and looking down at me.

"N—no he's not bullying me. It's all a misunderstanding don't worry." I explained. I look back at Kier and he's one brow is raising tila nanonood lamang sa bawat reaction ko at walang balak ipagtanggol ang sarili.

"Oh... I see." Kumbinsidong anito at bumaling na kay Kier na nakatitig parin sakin which made Jay confuse at Kier's action. Hindi manlang kase ito gumalaw, he's just crouching there and still looking at me. "Kier, He is looking for you. We have to go."

Thats when Kier stopped staring at me. He just nodded at Jay at nauna ng lumabas but before he disappeared into my eyes, he look back at me and he mouthed something before he disappeared from my sight.
