Leah's POV

It's Saturday afternoon and I'm going to go eat lunch by myself. Perks of being single.

I don't mind eating alone while the couple next to me are making out. I've gotten use to it overtime.

I usually bring my journal to write things in or when I get the job, I'll bring paperwork while I eat.

I got a table in the corner this time. I always come eat here because the food is delicious and it's on top of a building. It has an incredible view.

I sat down and the waiter brought me the menu, which I have almost memorized. I ordered club sandwiches with a raspberry tea.

I opened up my journal as I waited for my food. My journal contained so many things and memories. I looked at a page where I wrote down my bucket list. I wrote down 50 things and only 10 of them are crossed off.

I opened to another page where I stuck a picture of my mom in the crease of the journal. I looked at it smiled. She was so beautiful.

A gust of wind blew and the photo flew with it. Oh, God. I set my journal down and ran after it. It fell slowly on someone else's table. Thank God I didn't lose it.

The person noticed the picture and picked it up. I can only see the back of the persons head. He was definitely a man. He turned around and looked at me.

My, he was gorgeous. His tousled hair and his shirt was almost see through. I could tell he worked out.

He eyed me and then his eyes trailed down my body. It made me feel slightly uncomfortable.

"Is this yours?" He stood up and faced me.

I nodded. He was about two inches taller than me, but I felt like we were the same height.

"What's your name? If I can know." He handed me the picture.

"Leah. Davis."

"Davis? You're the one coming to work at my dad's law firm, right?" He smiled and it made my knees go weak.

"You're dad is Marc Johnson?" I asked.

"Yea, I'm Landon. Landon Johnson." He reached out for my hand and I shook it, firmly.

"Nice to meet you, Landon."

"Mind joining me? I'm eating by myself." He put his hands in his pocket, nervously.

"Sure, but let's use my table. Is that alright with you?"

"Yea, of course."

He followed me towards my table and pulled the chair out for me.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome." He sat across from me.

I put the photo away and put my journal back in my bag.

"So you're dad said I got the job?" I asked.

"I guess. Why? Did you not know?" He put his elbows on the table.

"Well his secretary called me saying if I can come in for like an interview. She never said I got the job."

"Oh, sorry if I spoiled anything for you." He chuckled.

"Do you work there, as well?" I drank my iced tea.

"I do, so I'll be seeing you around. It makes me happy." He smirked.

I blushed and giggled at his comment.

"You have a beautiful smile, Leah."

"Thanks, right back at you." I smiled at him.

Our food arrived and I took a bit out of my sandwich and gulped it down. I was really hungry.

I saw Landon biting into his burrito and sauce dripping down from it.

"Their food is the best, literally." He said, cleaning his mouth with a napkin.

"I know right! I come whenever I can."

"So I'm sure with that beautiful smile you have a significant other." He said.

"I wish. But no, no one." I giggled.

"Lucky for me." Landon winked at me.

I was gushing inside when I saw him wink at me. Landon was totally sexy and handsome. I could definitely see him as my boyfriend.

"So I'm guessing you don't have a significant other, as well." I said.

"It's their loss."

I laughed. "You're a cocky one."

"Oh, and I also heard you went to Harvard."

I nodded.

"How come I never saw you there?"

I gasped. "You went there too? That is so weird."

"I knew almost every girl on campus, but I don't remember you." He pointed his finger at me.

"So you were a player back then?" I let out a small laugh.

"Please don't start with that, my dad already gave me a speech about that this morning." He drank his water.

I laughed. "I'm sure I would have remembered you're face from campus."

"Me too. So, did you ever have that one professor with the smelly armpits?"

"Professor Jenkins? Every time I needed to ask him something, I would stand as far as possible."

"I remember he had on a grey shirt and you can see his wet spots on his armpits." He laughed while holding his stomach.

"He was actually a good teacher, too bad he was made fun of everyday for his armpits."

He was still laughing when my cellphone rang. I answered it and he calmed down.

"Hey, yea I'll be there in a few minutes." I hung up and put my phone back in my bag.

"Waiter, can I get the check please." I said to the waiter.

"You have to go?" Landon asked, sitting up.

"Yea, I have something to take care of. Well, it was nice talking to you. I'll see you on Monday."

The waiter came by and dropped off the bill. Landon reached over and pulled out money to cover it.

Before I could protest he raised his hand. "My treat. I hope we can do it again."

"Me too." I smiled at him.

"Here, let me walk you down. I need to be somewhere, as well."

He accompanied me all the way down and we stood by the entrance.

He handed me a card. "It has my number on it and my cellphone on the back. I hope it doesn't fly away."

I put the card in my purse and smiled at him. "I'll take good care of it."

He opened my door for me and I got in. "See you soon, blondie."

I smirked at him, knowing that nickname will leave his mouth about a million more times in the future.
