Landon's POV
Leah has been acting strange since this Nicholas guy showed up. When I asked her about him she seemed nervous.
When I saw Leah in the office with a guy, I was this close to getting jealous. She gave me a reason not to when she said he was like her brother.
I'm not a possessive kind of guy, but with Leah it's different. She's so beautiful and sexy, any guy would want her. I was lucky enough that she picked me.
It's Friday night and I'm waiting for Leah to come to my place. She still hasn't seen it and I figured tonight she could .
I cleaned up so she won't be disgusted by all the dirty clothes on the floor. I cleaned my kitchen and put all the dishes away. I swept the floor in my living room, surprised to see a lot of dust come from under the couches.
I changed into my basketball shorts and a t-shirt. My pants were to tight to bend in.
I sprayed Febreeze all over the place so the smell of dirty socks can go away.
I sniffed the air and looked around. This place looks so much better than before. I didn't even recognize it.
A kocking on my door made me jump. I made sure to check everything was in place before opening the door.
"Hey, blondie." I gave her a big kiss and let her in.
"Nice place, Thor." She walked past me and looked around.
"I'm very flattered to be called the God of Thunder. Thank you very much." I chuckled.
She looked at all the pictures and artwork on the wall.
"You have such an awesome place, babe." She smiled
"Thanks."
She walked some more around until she stopped.
She huffed. "Landon, I have to tell you something."
"Uh oh. I don't like the sound of that." I sat on my couch.
"It's about Nicholas."
I looked at her and she came and sat down next to me, holding my hand.
"We met in Boston at a night club and a few days later we became more than friends. It lasted for a year until he got a job in Florida."
I was a little annoyed that she didn't tell me earlier. He was her boyfriend before me.
"Why is he back? What does he want?" I asked, clenching my jaw.
"Don't be mad, but I met with him before coming here. He said he wanted me back. I told him off and left."
She met with him?! That makes me even more jealous. He wants her back, but I think it's a little too late for that, man. She's mine now.
"I don't want you seeing him again." I warned.
"I won't. I promise." She gave me a soft kiss.
*
Saturday morning and I'm wide awake at 7 A.M. Leah left early yesterday because she wanted to visit her dad before going home.
I looked out the window and the sun was shining bright. Even with the sun shining bright, it could be 40 degrees outside.
I took a warm shower and changed into jeans and a burgundy, long sleeved, shirt. I put on my chukka shoes and grabbed my coat.
I was right. It's freezing outside. I walked across the street to the café nearby. I looked at the barista and he gave me a thumbs up. The employees know my name by now and make me my every day coffee.
I paid for the coffee and waved at the workers as I stepped back out side.
"Landon!" Jarett yelled.
I met him halfway and gave him a hug.
"Want to have breakfast with me?" He asked, rubbing his hands together to keep them warm.
"You're buying my friend." I said, as we walked to the stop light and into a breakfast place.
"So, did you go out yesterday?" I asked him.
We sat across from each other and took off our coats to be more comfortable.
"I did and met someone, but I didn't sleep with her, yet." He said.
"What's her name?"
"Nina."
Isn't that Leah's friend? If it is then I have to warn him.
"Did you get her last name?"
"I think it was Robson." He scratched his head.
"Robinson?" I sipped my coffee.
"Yea yea. Robinson. She's one hell of a girl." He spaced out and smiled.
"Well her and Leah are friends. I met her at Leah's house a couple days ago."
"Wow? Really? So I can't mess with her or else I'm getting a beating from Leah."
"Exactly. Women will literally kill for their best friend." I stated.
"We just kissed and got each others numbers." He said.
"Call her right now and ask if she wants to go out for dinner." I handed him his phone.
His eyes widened and then relaxed. "Funny joke, man."
"I'm serious. By the way, you need to find someone too. I'm worried that you'll die without a wife, man."
"You're already thinking of my death? What kind of friend are you?"
"Look, just call her. Don't tell me you're scared?"
I always use the 'you are a chicken' card to get him to do something. And it always works.
He dialed her number and waited for her to answer.
"Is this Nina?" He faked a smile
"I was wondering if you wanted to have dinner with me tonight?" I tried to hold my laugh, but I couldn't.
"Yea, just message me your address and I'll pick you up. Great. See you later."
I laughed while he had an angry face.
"Keep laughing, bro. I'll get you back." He threatened.
"You never keep your threats, so I'm not worried." I continued laughing.
We finished breakfast and Jarett went to make reservations for his date with Nina.
I was at the stop light, waiting for the signal to walk, like the other beside me.
"Landon Johnson." Next to me was Nicholas.
"Nicholas Wolfe." I said and put my hands in my pockets.
"Did Leah tell you everything that happened between us?"
I did a small laugh and kept walking. He was walking at my pace right next to me.
"Why don't we have a drink later and I'll fill you in on everything. I'm sure she hasn't told you everything."
He handed me his card and it has his number on it.
"Special Agent Wolfe. Has a nice ring to it." I joked.
He walked away and I was relieved. I shoved the card in my pocket and went up to my place.
