Landon's POV
Leah and I were standing outside of her dad's house. It's a nice and beautiful, big house.
I was nervous at the moment. My palms were sweating and my stomach was feeling not so good.
"Landon, are you nervous?" Leah asked before she opened the door.
I nodded.
She gave me a kiss and it made me feel less nervous. She grabbed my hand and we walked inside.
The first thing I saw was a flight of stairs with a chandelier hanging down. I looked around while Leah dragged me to the kitchen.
"Hilda! How are you?" Leah hugged a women who was older, but her face didn't make her look her age.
"I'm good, mija. What about you?"
"Very good, but I want you to meet somebody." Leah looked at me and Hilda's gaze followed.
"Hilda, this is Landon, my boyfriend." Leah huffed.
Hearing her say that I was her boyfriend made me feel different, but in a good way.
"Hi, I'm Landon Johnson. Nice to meet you." I shook her hand.
"Landon, Hilda has been taking care of me when I was a little girl, she's like a second mom." Leah kissed Hilda on the cheek.
"You helped raised a wonderful person, Hilda."
"This one is a keeper, Leah. Don't let him get away." Hilda said.
"I know. Is my dad in his office?"
"Like always."
Leah and I excused ourselves from the kitchen and she dragged me down a hallway to a door that was slightly opened.
"Dad?" Leah knocked before entering.
I saw a man sitting on a chair with his legs up on a desk, reading a book. His reading glasses made him look scary to me.
"Leah, it's good to see you." Her dad straightened up and gave Leah a hug.
"You wanted to meet him. Here he is." Leah gestured for me to come closer.
"Hello, sir. I'm Landon Johnson, your daughter's boyfriend." I extended my hand out and he waited a couple seconds before shaking it.
I sighed of relief. This is a good start, I told myself.
"I'm Alan Davis. I suppose you have good intentions with my daughter."
"Only the best, Mr. Davis." I tried to relax myself, but I couldn't.
Leah's dad asked me questions about my history with women and if I was going to treat his daughter right and not break her heart. The typical dad interview.
After, Leah showed me around the house and even showed me her old room.
"I was obsessed with teddy bears, as you can tell." She pointed at her stuffed animals.
"I think it's cute." I kissed her cheek.
She showed me pictures of her when she was a little girl. She also showed me a picture of her mom and her on a carousel ride.
During dinner time, I could feel the awkwardness in the air. Leah's dad kept grunting when I would act romantic towards her. I kept my hands to myself the entire time.
"We'll see you soon, dad. Love you and take care."
"Goodnight, Mr. Davis." I said.
Leah and I walked towards my car.
"That wasn't so bad was it." I opened the door for her.
"If you say so..." I closed her door before she could say anything else.
My car stopped in front of her building and she got out.
"Goodnight, blondie. Sweet dreams." I told her as I starred at her ass.
"Goodnight. I'll see you tomorrow." She blew a kiss my way.
I watched her sway her hips as she entered the building. I watched her go into the elevator and the doors closed. I drove off after.
*
Wednesday morning was like any other morning.
I wake up, do a bit of lifting in my small gym room, and take a shower. After my shower, I'll change into my clothes and make a quick breakfast.
Breakfast for me is unhealthy cereal or a bagel, every morning. And of course, a cup of coffee.
If Leah were here on mornings, she's probably make a breakfast feast. Then I'll have to blame her for making me fat.
I step out of the elevator and run into Jarett.
"Can't even remember that I'm your best friend?" He shoved me in a playful manner.
"I've been busy, man. But I will never forget about you." I patted his cheek.
"What's up with you and blue eyes." He asked.
"Her name is Leah and we're together."
"No way, bro. Is this some kind of prank? Don't play with me." I laughed at his reaction.
"I'm serious. She's different and I really want this to work. I think she's the one I'm going to settle down with." I huffed.
"I'm going to faint." He leaned against me and I held him back to his feet.
"Jarett, get back to work. We'll talk more about this some other time." I patted his shoulder and went to my office.
"Peace." He yelled to me as he got in the elevator.
I was waiting for Leah so we can go over the case one more time before going to court at 10am.
She appeared dressed to impress. Those pants she has on right now makes her legs longer and sexier.
"Morning, babe." I blurted. I closed my eyes when I realized I had just called her 'babe'.
"What happened to 'blondie'?" She raised an eyebrow.
"I'm never gonna stop calling you 'blondie'." I warned her.
"Good morning, babe." She pecked my lips.
I smiled and returned the kiss, gladly.
We went over the case feeling confident that this guy was going to prison. I drove Leah and I to the courthouse just in time.
We stood in out places and waited for the defendant to take his spot.
"...after countless pieces of evidence, it makes the defendant guilty. We hope the jury makes the right decision." Leah closed off.
She sat down right next to me and I gave her the thumbs up.
"Awesome job, blondie." I whispered in her ear.
The jury took hours before they entered the room. A person from the jury gave the judge the papers that containes the decision that the jury took.
"Will the defendant please rise..."
Please, please, please, guilty. I kept repeating in my head.
"The jury finds the defendant...guilty."
Yes! Leah and I hugged each other from all the excitement we were feeling at the time.
"I told you we could do it." I smiled at her.
After court we went to go eat because both of us were starving and missed lunch time by a few hours.
