Annkoto - Chapter 13: I Can't Help It!

After a long and challenging week of exams, the Phantom Thieves decided to celebrate their successes by going to the fireworks festival on Marine Day, 7/18. Once that day came, Makoto arrived at Ann's house, where they will dress themselves in Yukata to prepare for the festival.

Ann: "Welcome Makoto!"

Makoto: "Wow Ann your house is astounding, now I'm wondering why we would always stay at my home."

Ann: "I don't really get it, it just feels so big and lonely in here all the time."

Makoto: "How do you feel now that I'm here?"

Ann: "It's like the whole atmosphere has changed!"

Makoto giggles a bit, and they head to Ann's room to get ready.

Makoto: "Your room is also very pleasant. I love all of your stuffed animals."

Ann: "O- Oh thank you! They do make me feel pretty childish though... but I need something to cuddle with while I sleep."

Makoto: "Or perhaps, some-one?"

Ann face turns red and she turns around to hide it. Makoto also hides her face, having said that without thinking.

Ann: "W- What does your yukata look like Makoto?"

Makoto: "Here let me show you." She pulls out a beautiful white yukata with a large red floral pattern.

Ann: *gasps* "I can't wait to see you wear it!"

Makoto: "How about yours, Ann-chan?"

Ann: "Heehee, how about I get dressed and surprise you with it!"

Makoto: "Th- That would be nice I suppose."

Ann: "Yay! How about this, I'll get changed in the bathroom and you get changed in here, that way we'll both surprise each other when we're done!"... "Unless you were wanting to see me change, dirty-minded Makoto~"

Makoto: "A- Absolutely not! I would never... uhm, well maybe not never..."
Her face quickly turns red and she quickly gets in the bathroom with her yukata.

Ann giggling: "Ahaha you're too easy to tease Makoto. I guess I'll be changing in here then."

After Ann and Makoto confirm that they're done changing, Makoto exits the bathroom.

Makoto: *gasps* "Ann, you're so beautiful... I- I- I mean your yukata is stunning Ann-chan."
Ann's yukata is light blue with a color mix of pastel red and teal spots, as well as yellow flower blooms and hints of pink cherry blossom pellets.

Ann: "Thank you Makoto, and your yukata also looks very pretty on you."

Ann and Makoto begin to stare deeply and longingly into each other's eyes again. Makoto walks up close to Ann, and rests her hand on the side of her soft face.

Ann: "W- Would you like to do each other's makeup now?"

Makoto drops her hand: "Yes I would love to Ann, though I'm not nearly as skilled as you are."

Ann: "Most of my makeup is done by professionals before I model, so I promise that I'm not as good as it seems."

And with that, Ann and Makoto finish getting ready.

...

Makoto: "So are these the girls you're interested in Ryuji?"

Ann and Makoto are walking up to Ren, Ryuji, Yusuke, and two girls that seem to have just been hitting on them.

Ryuji: "H- Hey! Watch it!"

Yusuke to the two girls: "You are a disgrace to your yukata. Stay away."
The girls look at each other and walk off.

Ryuji: "Bro what the HELL was that?!"

Yusuke: "They were simply a dishonor to our Japanese history."

Ryuji: "Well simply they were a pair of hot babes! C'mon Ren do you believe this guy?"

Ren: "No comment."

Ryuji: "At least act like you careee."
...
Ann: "Yusuke that yukata suits you so well!"
Yusuke's yukata was a simple navy blue with a white pattern on the back. It does suite him quite well.

Makoto: "And Ren, that yukata is a very nice look on you."

Ren: "Thank you, it was a gift."
Ren's yukata is white with a red obi belt, a stark contrast to his usual black and red color palette, but the colors are alike to someone else's style in particular.

Ryuji: "I can't believe I'm the only one without a yukata."

Morgana: "Hey bozo, I don't have one either."

Ryuji: "You're a cat!"

Morgana: "I am NOT!"

...

The fireworks were about to start. The Phantom Thieves saw a few flashes of dazzling colorful explosions before water droplets started to fall on their heads. They rush for shelter a in front of a nearby convenience store.

Ann starts ringing out her yukata. Doing so reveals quite a bit of her leg, up to her upper thigh.
She finishes and gets up.

Ann: "Makoto, you weren't thinking of anything perverted were you?" (teasing)

Makoto: "W- What?! How could I do such a thing, I would never!"

Ann: "You're so cute when you get like this y'know."

Makoto covers her red face with her hands.

Makoto: "Stop itttt." (playfully)

Ann: "I can't help it! Seeing that red face of yours is just too precious."

Morgana: "Get a rooooom."

Ryuji: "Yeah can you guys flirt somewhere else."

Ann: "Wow, I never would have thought Morgana and Ryuji would agree on anything."

Morgana: "Preposterous!"

Ryuji: "You will not see me agreeing with that cat again."

Yusuke: "Perhaps we should wait inside? The rain just seems to be getting heavier."

Ren: "Good idea, Yusuke."
...
Ann: "It's so crowded in here."

Makoto: "It looks like everyone else had the same idea as us."

Ryuji: "It's effing hot with all these people here, man."

That's when the Phantom Thieves spot a girl get escorted into an expensive-looking black car and driven away.

Ryuji: "Who's the rich girl? I feel like I've seem her around school."

Makoto: "I think I know her. She's from my class. I don't know anything about her other than that."

The firework festival turned out to be somewhat of a failure. But it didn't stop the team from having fun together.
