Annkoto: Chapter 22: Mountain Day

Akechi: "Ah well look who's here. Happy Mountain day, Ren"

Ren: "I didn't realize you held such high appreciation for... mountains."

Akechi: "I just like to keep track of the holidays is all. Now enough idle chat."

He pulls Ren close by the shirt and kisses him. Ren, looking startled at first, closest his eyes and leans into it as Akechi slips in the tongue and they make out.
Ren had just arrived at Akechi's lonely apartment. He stays over on occasion after locking up Leblanc.
Akechi is a bit more forceful and demanding compared to his public presence.

Ren: "Goro..."
Goro is Akechi's first name, nobody ever uses it.

Akechi: "I told you not to use that name."

Ren: "It just makes me feel so distant."

Akechi: "Just pretend Akechi is my first name."

They continue to press their lips together, almost too forcefully on Akechi's end, but Ren's gentle control balances it out.

...

Ren: "So, a double date with Makoto?"

Akechi: "I feel as though I've been rude to her in the past so I wanted to clear the air at least."

Ren: "But suggesting that is a rather bold move, not that being bold is out of character for you or anything."

Akechi: "What are you getting at?"

Ren: "From what I've heard, Makoto's girlfriend has been getting rather bold herself. I wouldn't be surprised if the date happened sooner rather than later."

Akechi: "I wonder who this girlfriend will turn out to be. It's strange but I seldom ever meet lesbians in all the places I have traveled in Japan."

Ren: "Well since she hasn't come out yet, of course you wouldn't have seen her waving the sunset flag out in the open. I doubt girls are her only preference anyway."

Akechi: "Isn't it unfair how lesbians get such a beautiful sunset flag, meanwhile mine looks like toothpaste."

Ren: "Ahaha, it does look like that doesn't it?"

Akechi: "Yours isn't half bad either, only three colors though."

Ren: "I do think the pan flag is nice."

Akechi: "They're going to catch you eventually you know."

Ren: "Who, my parents?"

Akechi: "No, idiot. I'm talking about the Phantom Thieves."

Ren: "What's this about all of the sudden."

Akechi: "The police are going to interrogate students at Shujin. It won't be for a while but it will happen."

Ren: "Can't we just act like normal students and not arouse suspicion?"

Akechi: "Yes that would be fine I suppose."

Ren: "...What are you getting at?"

Akechi: "I have seen... things."
He has a pained, shattered look on his face.

Akechi: "Threats greater than the police, even greater than... nevermind."

Ren: "What?"

Akechi: "I've said too much."

Ren: "You're scaring me."

Akechi: "Listen Ren. There will come a day when I will scare you to the point where I will have to cry."

Ren: "..."

Akechi: "Even so, I must."

Ren: "You don't have to-"

Akechi: "How the hell would YOU know!?"

Ren: "I don't know. But I know you're hurting, you always have been."

Akechi: "So what!?"

Ren: "So, you don't have to suffer alone anymore."

Akechi: "..."

Ren hugs Akechi closely.

Akechi: "...I'm sorry."

Ren: "Don't be."

...

Makoto: "Ann?"

Ann: "Yeeeesss Makoto-senpai?"

Makoto: "Could I uhm have a repeat of what you did after our date?"

Ann: "Ah, so is that why your cheeks are all red? Of course..."
She leans in to kiss Makoto's right cheek.
Ann: "...honey."

Makoto: "H-h-honey??"

Ann: "Yes dear?"

Makoto: "Dear???"

Ann: "Hehe, you seem to really like these pet names."

Makoto responds with a jumble of words and emotions that are too nonsensical to write down as text.

Ann: "So that's what happens when I get you overly flustered!"

Makoto is at Ann's house for the night of Mountain Day. They seem to have both become overly flirtatious since their most recent date.

Makoto: "...meanie."

Ann: "Aww is my dear all pouty all of the sudden?"

Makoto: "Nothing another kiss on the cheek wouldn't fix..."

Ann: "Mwah! There you go, all better."

Makoto: "I love you."

Ann: "And I really like you too."
...
Ann: "I think I'm ready."

Makoto: (Does she mean she wants to take it a step further!? I can't get my hopes up but I really really think that's what she means! I need to mentally prepare myself for this. Just remember all of those tutorial videos you watched online. 'Remember, you can only use the tongue after 2 minutes and 27 seconds have passed, on average. Doing it sooner would unpleasantly surprise your lover and doing it later would make your lover dissatisfied.' Okay, remember, I just gotta feel it out for when the time is right-)

Ann: "Earth to Makoto?"
She's waving her hand in from on Makoto's face. Makoto yelps as she comes back from outer space.
Ann: "Did you hear what I said?"

Makoto: "N- No? I'm so sorry."

Ann: "I said let's set up the double date with Ren and Akechi!"

Makoto: "Oh so that's what you meant."

Ann: "Huh? What did you think I meant?"

Makoto: "N- Nothing! Anyways, I'm so proud of you Ann! This is a big step."

Ann: "I know right? I'm super excited."

Makoto: "Me too! So when should we plan the date for?"

Ann and Makoto keep making plans into the night.
