Gumi took a deep breath, curled her fingers into the seat of the car and slowly blew out the breath she had been holding, as if her cheeks were a balloon that had been filled too full. She stared at the passenger seat, transfixed. The cab had long since driven off and the girl hadn't uttered a single word since the start.
Taehyun.
The 22-year-old girl had recognized him as soon as he had offered his help. Her heart had literally stopped. It was only today that Gumi had seen his smile in the interview that Sooji had shown her.
The interview of the musician Kang Taehyun.
From the very beginning, the redhead had thought that he must be the famous singer that so many people were talking about. Despite her often failing memory and the wet lenses of her glasses, she had remembered his friendly smile. Gumi would never have thought that this polite boy was a star. Or rather the other way around; after all, she had always expected people with such social standing to be arrogant and cold.
Was this even a cab?
Or was it his chauffeur?
Gumi swallowed and looked at the driver, who had his eyes fixed silently on the road. He already knew her address, drove purposefully to the house she wanted and was glad that fate had given her some luck. But she found it hard to breathe. After all, she had spoken to Kang Taehyun and even if she only knew a few songs through Sooji, Gumi knew that he was a big name in the music industry.
His voice was considered a 'golden voice'.
Described by many fans as clearly the most experienced vocally, although he hasn't been in the business as many years as his older colleagues. Taehyun's beautiful vocal range and this pretty good falsetto voice. But the rough pop-rock voice he used in some songs was also a big topic of discussion among his listeners. His head voice had developed well in the last few years since his debut, and his chest voice was a dream.
All in all, Taehyun was one of those great musicians you could listen to for a long time.
That's why Gumi could hardly believe it and didn't know if she should tell anyone.
Sooji would probably faint, but Yeonah could keep calm. After all, she was much more mature than the two younger ones, especially when it came to men, Yeonah often kept her cool.
Finally, the driver pulled up outside her house.
"I think we're here," the man behind the wheel announced, glancing over his shoulder at the girl.
Gumi nodded silently, as she had already seen her home from afar. As soon as the car was stationary, the redhead unbuckled her seatbelt and reached for her backpack. "Thank you!" she said with a smile and opened the door. She would have liked to say something else for the driver to say to Taehyun, but the words were too heavy on her tongue, so she remained silent and left the car with a nod of thanks. The car drove off again immediately, while the girl walked towards her house. Her knees were still trembling with excitement and when Gumi opened the door, she could already hear her family talking.
