The coolness of the late night enveloped Gumi as she stood in front of the majestic Qiqi Entertainment building. The imposing, multi-story building shone in the city lights, and the glass front reflected the colorful neon signs of the surrounding stores. In front of the building was a wide sidewalk lined with trees. The leaves of the trees whispered in the wind and cast ghostly shadows on the ground. Streetlights bathed the scene in a subdued but warm light, while the typical panels of Korean characters and neon-lit colors filled the surroundings with a vibrant glow. But most people had long since retreated to their homes at this time of night or were working their late shifts. Only a few cars whizzed quietly through the streets, leaving a slight hum in the air.
Gumi could feel the mixture of excitement and nervousness in the cool night air as she prepared to enter the building. The large entrance hall was dimly lit, and the sound of her footsteps echoed in the silence. It was obvious that most of the staff had already left and Gumi could only hear the muffled hum of the air conditioning.
She reached for her cell phone to read Kai's message again.
›Yes, we'll meet there.‹
She felt slightly uneasy, as she didn't know what to expect. Did Taehyun and Kai already know about the pictures?
Did they perhaps already know who had taken them?
The feeling of hope that always came over her when Gumi thought of Taehyun was mixed with fear, uncertainty and not knowing.
She crossed the entrance hall and set off in search of the two friends. But the further she got into the building, the more she realized that it wouldn't be easy to find them. The corridors seemed endless and the doors to the offices were locked. Gumi stopped and stared at her cell phone. A message flashed on the screen. She saw that it was from Taehyun. 'Gumi, I'm on my way.' It sounded different from the message from Kai, and she wondered what was going on.
With a slightly queasy feeling, she made her way to the recording studio where she had worked with Taehyun, but even there she found only empty rooms. The silence and darkness increased her uncertainty.
Where had Taehyun and Kai disappeared to?
Gumi decided to call Kai and hoped that she could find out where they were. As she waited for an answer, she could feel the uncertainty and tension spreading through the deserted surroundings.
But no one answered.
And then the lights suddenly went out, shrouding the girl in darkness.

Taehyun and Kai reached Gumi's house in the dark of night. A faint beam of light from the hallway fell on the front door and the wind howled softly through the front garden. Lost in thought and plagued by worries, they pressed the doorbell. They waited for someone to open the door for them, but no sound, apart from the gentle sound of the wind, broke through the darkness.
