The next day, Yeonah entered 'Angelia's dream'.
Had literally fled there.
Because apart from the fact that Gumi worked here, the bar was a very bright and cozy place. With all the plants, the large windows that let in lots of sunlight. This atmosphere provided comfort or, as in the case of her stepsister, certainly a romantic backdrop.
But Yeonah wasn't thinking about that at the moment, she had just nodded to Gumi and ordered the usual before the 24-year-old young woman sat down at a free seat.
The loose beige sweater, skater jeans and hair tied up in a wild bun gave Yeonah the impression that she had just got up. But the student had already been awake for hours and had also had a very long discussion with her mother. The fact that her exam results were good but Yeonah neglected her attendance duties had become a topic of argument between mother and daughter.
Yeonah did not like her studies.
She found the subject monotonous and dry, but no one was interested in what the 24-year-old really wanted.
That's why Yeonah was lost in her gloomy thoughts, supporting her head with her right hand and looking at the girls walking past in their elaborate outfits. After a while, Gumi put the latte macchiato down in front of Yeonah, noticed the thoughtful look on her face and slid her a cookie.
"You look like you could do with something sweet."
"Thanks," replied Yeonah, who sometimes had the feeling that Gumi could solve any problem with a cookie. Smiling, she pushed the coffee and cookie in front of her. "Don't worry, you won't even notice I'm here. You can sit with me later during your break."
Now you realized even more how depressed the girl was. Her voice was low and fragile and her expression was gloomy. "Okay, I'll come later," Gumi finally said and decided to talk to Yeonah during her break. She still had some work to do and went back to preparing the next order. More and more people were trickling into the bistro and the waiters were bustling around. It was only when her colleague returned from her break and replaced her that Gumi was able to relax. The redhead grabbed one of the sandwiches and sat down at Yeonah's table. She had already finished her drink and Gumi held the bread out to her, offering her a bite.
But Yeonah waved it off with a smile.
She really wasn't hungry and she had only eaten the cookie for Gumi's sake.
"Go ahead and eat, you need to keep your strength up for your shift," said the eldest, taking the empty cup between her hands and turning it slightly back and forth.
But Gumi refused to let go and lowered the bread. She tilted her head and pushed her lower lip forward.
"What's wrong?" Gumi finally asked.
"Oh, I had a fight with my mom today," Yeonah began, "because I'm missing so many classes and neglecting my duties. She just doesn't understand how boring this subject is." It was the first time since the eldest had started her studies that she had made such a statement. Even Sooji thought Yeonah was a model student.
