Taehyun entered his apartment and was immediately surrounded by a silence that seemed almost eerie.

It was already dark, which is why he switched on the light and directly illuminated the combined rooms of the kitchen and living room. And although the apartment was not only spacious, but also bright and inviting in daylight, he hadn't stayed here for a long time. It was luxurious and tastefully furnished, especially the large glass window arch leading into the bedroom was an eye-catcher, but it still felt empty and gloomy.

Taehyun slowly let his gaze wander around the room and closed the door behind him. Pictures on the walls told of past memories and successes, but at that moment they seemed meaningless to him. He immediately tried to distract himself from the unpleasant atmosphere and briefly thought about working with Sooji.

Her voice would enrich his new album and he was sure that he would be able to call it perfect.

It would definitely be a success and the artist was looking forward to it.

However, his thoughts were abruptly interrupted when the doorbell rang, making Taehyun flinch instinctively. The unexpected disturbance in the dark and lonely apartment caused his heart to race and beads of sweat to appear on his forehead. Fear slowly crept up his spine, and he could feel distinct symptoms of it. His breathing became shallow, his hands trembled and an oppressive feeling took hold of him. He approached the door hesitantly, his steps heavy and unsteady. The artist didn't dare breathe as he crept towards the peephole to find out who it was.

Of course he was expecting Gumi.

But it could also be someone else.

When he peeked through the peephole and actually saw the red-haired waitress there, he exhaled with relief and opened the door with a surprising softness in his eyes.

The fear had not yet completely left his face, but Gumi's smile immediately warmed his heart. "Hi!" she said sweetly. She kept how much she had missed him to herself for the time being. "Are you okay?" she asked, slightly worried, because the worry line on Taehyun's forehead wouldn't go away.

"Yeah, yeah, sure. I'm probably just a bit tired. And it's unusual for me here, because I'm probably at work most of the time..." Taehyun tried to defuse the situation and stepped aside. "Why don't you come in?"

With a friendly nod, Gumi entered the apartment. It was the first time she had been given a glimpse of his privacy and it was as if she was entering a completely different world. The apartment was so spacious, neat and elegantly designed, very different from her own home, which seemed warm and cozy. The girl couldn't help but look around and be amazed. It was a true contrast to her home and especially her room, where bright colors met a large bed adorned with a crocheted blanket, a large wooden wardrobe and a messy desk.

"This is where you live?" she asked curiously, because it looked pretty clean and unused. But if she held on to the thought that he wasn't here often, then she could understand that. "Really impressive."
