There was a tense atmosphere in the soundproofed recording studio. Gumi stood in front of the microphone, her voice ready to transform the words into melody and harmony. Sooji, on the other hand, was sitting at a table with a tattered piece of paper with the song lyrics on it. Her expression revealed that she was trying in vain to remember the words.
Gumi breathed in and out deeply to calm herself. She had prepared herself for this moment and was ready to put all her emotion and passion into the song. With a nod, she signaled to Sooji that she was ready. Earlier, Gumi had explained the essential steps for recording to her stepsister, but you could tell the tall girl was a little overwhelmed with the recording and remembering the lyrics.
The music started and the first notes filled the room.
Her clear, melodic voice broke through the silence.
She closed her eyes and found herself in the world of the song. The lines flowed out of her, and she felt the words take hold of her and become embedded in the melody. Sooji, watching her intently, could feel the intensity and passion in Gumi's singing.
But as Gumi continued to sing and approached the verses she had not yet recorded, she noticed Sooji jump up excitedly.
"Wait, I've got it!" she shouted and rushed to Gumi. She handed her the crumpled sheet of paper with the lyrics and pointed to the part Gumi was supposed to sing.
The stepsisters had already been here three times in the recording studio and had prepared for the recording together. Everything had gone smoothly so far, but the lyrics were a real challenge, perhaps because they came from a different head than Gumi's. She knew all her songs by heart. She knew all her songs by heart and had studied them extensively.
But apart from the language, Taehyun had a different way of writing songs.
Nevertheless, the redhead made an effort, tapping her leg to the beat and singing as best she could, orienting herself to the slightly trembling sheet held by Sooji, who continued to keep an eye on the lyrics, noticing how Gumi became more engrossed in the song with each verse. The two sisters seemed to be working in perfect harmony with each other, as if they were bonding through music and their love for Taehyun. Gumi struggled through the lyrics and Sooji helped her with the trickier parts. With each successful section, their confidence grew. Finally, they reached the climax of the song, and Gumi sang with an intensity that gave her goosebumps.
As the last note faded, the two exhaled deeply and looked at each other. A smile of pride and joy spread across their faces. Together they had managed to record the first song, despite the initial challenges with the lyrics.
Sooji beamed with joy and said, "You were great, Gumi. Your voice is incredible!"
The redhead's radiance was dazzling. She couldn't stop smiling, she was so happy. So far, the visits to the studio had always gone brilliantly and no one had seen her. Sooji had cheated her through the back entrance and the effort to avoid being caught was great. "Thank you," Gumi said affectionately and finally pulled the taller girl into a hug. She was glad to have such good succor and especially that their bond as sisters was improved. "This wouldn't be possible without you."
