Suhani's pov
He had expected me to be Dadisa, but when he saw it was me, he looked deeply disappointed. He was upset, and seeing him like that made my heart ache—not because my feelings for him were changing , but because I could see a part of my old self in him. His face showed a mix of sadness and distress, and I could tell he was hiding his emotions.
As I watched him, I noticed the worry on his face. I wanted to comfort him, to help him feel better, but I wasn't sure if I should. Still, I felt drawn to him. I took a deep breath and stepped closer, gently placing my hand on his shoulder while keeping a bit of distance.
"Mr. Rathore" I said softly, "what's wrong? You seem troubled. Did something happen?"He looked at me with sadness and longing in his eyes.
"It's nothing, Dr. Suhani" he said, trying to dismiss it, but I could tell he was hiding the truth.
"I know something's bothering you" I said gently. "I want to help. Please, tell me what's wrong, Mr. Rathore."
He hesitated, clearly weighed down by his emotions.
"I-It's just about work , nothing more" he said as he locked eyes with me , his eyes were shining
"Dr Suhani" he called and I simply hummed
"Of course, I've seen doctors who are committed to their work, but at such a young age, you and your team are doing so much. You deserve the praise... You've helped so many people, and you've made a real difference in their lives. Don't ever doubt that. Whatever Shashank uncle said wasn't right, but you and your team are hardworking, good people—always remember that."
His words touched me, and I couldn't help but smile. It felt nice to be recognized for our hard work, and I admired his perspective.
In that moment, I realized how genuinely good he was at heart. Whatever relationship we have is a different story, but deep down, he's a kind person. over time, I've come to respect him deeply—not just because of his actions, but because of the compassion and care he shows for others. It wasn't about physical attraction, it was about seeing and valuing his character and values.
"Ahem... That's so unusual of you to compliment me, but thanks, Mr. Rathore" I teased, trying to lighten the mood. It worked. He gave a small smile. just a little one, but it felt good to see it. Even a small smile from him was enough.
"Aapko nahi batana to Mat bataiye , I respect your decision . Waise Dadisa abhi so rahi hain , unko disturb karna sahi nahi rahega" (If you don't want to talk about it , I completely respect your decision , it's upto you but right now Dadisa is sleeping and I think it would not be good to wake her up from her sleep) I said , and his frown lines grew wider but after a second he nodded with a light smile.
"It's Alright , I don't want to disturb her either , I can talk to her some other time" He replied with a gentle smile which made my heart skip a beat.
(Whatever it is , but there's no doubt that his smile is beyond beautiful I thought in my head and smiled back.
"Waise Aapko smile karna bhi aata hai ? , mujhe pata nahi tha . Smile kar liya keejiye , Aap ke uppar itni buri bhi nahi lagti" (Well , I didn't know you could smile , it suits you) I said and his expressions changed with a smirk.
