(Declan's Pov)
Slowly starting to come around my nose scrunches up as I slowly open my eyes only to blink the light from my eyes letting my vision focus only to pause when I see Matt beside my bed clutching onto my hand he focused on the tv but quickly turns his head when I say in a dazed voice. "Am I in heaven?" He seems to look relieved before saying softly. "No baby you're not in heaven you're in the hospital." I'm quiet for a moment before I say softly. "Why are you here?" He looks at me sadly. "Your manager called me when he heard what happened and let me know. I rushed here immediately." I immediately feel wary and upset. "Why? We aren't together anymore so what's it matter to you what happened?" He immediately frowns. "Baby..." I cut him off saying flatly. "Don't call me that." He frowns but says softly. "Declan I only stopped seeing you to protect you. I had to leave you alone because the CEO and my manager came across a picture someone took of us kissing. He demanded I stop seeing you or he'd disband your group and kick you out of the company. I didn't want to ruin yours and Abby's career." I stare at him a little saying vulnerably. "So you still care about me?" He nods gently cupping my cheek. "I never stopped caring about you. I love you." My eyes widen a little in surprise. "Y.... You love me?" He nods. "Yes I love you so much Declan and I'm sorry I caused you to hurt yourself." I smile a little reassuringly. "I love you too. And don't blame yourself for what I did." He leans forward kissing my cheek making me blush and then I look around curiously. "Where's Abby?" He gives me a reassuring smile. "She's staying in a hotel nearby she wanted to give us a chance to talk things out." I nod and sigh looking tired again Matt's expression softening. "Sleep baby you need it." I smile and relax slowly falling asleep happily.
*a few days later*
After being in the hospital for a few days and promising to make a checkup with a doctor for my weight loss and to see a therapist I'm finally discharged. After getting some paperwork on my stitches I grab an outfit from the suitcase Abby brought me and I head to the private bathroom attached to my room while Matt waits for me. I quickly get dressed and exit the bathroom before going to close my suitcase and zip it up. Abby and I agreed that I'll stay with Matt for a while so she can get the dorm deep cleaned. I try to grab my suitcase but am too weak to lift it Matt immediately grabbing it and I look at him thankfully. "Alright can we go now?" He nods and we leave the hospital heading to his truck he helping me in and I buckle up he getting in and starts driving. I shift a little looking out the window and I smile when we reach Matt's apartment he helping me out and we head inside I going to take a seat on his couch. Matt takes my suitcase to his room then he sits down beside me and cuddles me close I laying my head on his shoulder. It's quiet between us before I speak up. "What are we going to do about your manager and the CEO?" He says softly his tone serious. "I'm going to tell them that they either let us be together or I'll leave the company completely." I blink and look at him wide eyed. "Matt you shouldn't quit because of me." He gives me a little smile. "I don't want to lose you again and I'm not letting them bully me into not being with you." I blink before saying softly. "I don't wanna lose you again either but...." He cuts me off saying firmly. "Don't worry about it baby. Just focus on yourself and getting better." I reluctantly back down a little pouting and he smiles pecking my lips reassuringly making me smile. He then starts to move and get up. "Let's get you something to eat." I sigh but nod and get up following him to the kitchen where I take a seat as Matt starts making me soup. He gives me a small bowl and sets it in front of me I eating silently I actually able to eat most of it. Matt gives me a proud smile and I yawn sleepily before rubbing my eyes Matt's expression softening. "Let's go take a nap." I nod and Matt puts my bowl in the sink before he scoops me up bridal style and carries me to his room where he lays down with me and I cling to him slowly falling asleep.
