I looked around the place before I hesitated and took another step inside to my new home, my heart aching and yearning for a place that I had called home before this.
"Mmmm mmm mmm," my grandmother said and shook her head after she entered the house, and I looked at her with a blank look on my face. "I can work with this," she said while she moved her sleeves up to her elbow just a tad. "We'll make this feel like a second home for you, Dear." She looked at me and misled, and I tried but failed to smile at her.
"You'll be able to go back," Targon promised, switching back to our tongue. He squeezed my shoulder reassuringly, and I set my jaw, my heart breaking again. "However, you have to be ready for anything as soon as you are there."
I hesitated before I slowly nodded and set my jaw.
"Clove?" Frederick asked and looked at me with a raised an eyebrow. Concern filled his voice while he placed his hand on my arm and squeezed it reassuringly. "Are you ok?"
I was about to nod before I sighed and shook my head, not able to look at him. "I am not," I said softly. "I will be ok, but I am not ok right now."
Frederick set his jaw and looked at Targon before he looked at me again, his gaze hard. "Is it something that he said?" he asked, subconsciously pulling me away from my guard.
I bit back a snort and shook my head, letting him pull me away from Targon because I knew that he was getting protective of me, even though he didn't need to be. "No," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "It's because I am a little homesick, and he understands that."
Frederick looked at Targon and then at me before he looked at him again, slowly blinking. "Are you homesick as well?" he asked and raised an eyebrow in question, and Targon set his jaw and nodded in confirmation.
"I am," he confirmed and nodded before he cleared his throat and shifted on his feet. Pain filled his eyes while he bowed, not able to meet his gaze any longer. "I am homesick, too."
Frederick nodded before he looked at me again with a raised eyebrow. "When can you go back?" he asked softly and cocked his head, studying me.
I hesitated before I looked at Targon with a raised eyebrow, not sure when we would be able to go back to our realm.
"Oh, it's going to be a while before they can go back, Dear," Yana said before she took another step into the house and looked around before she looked at my mate. She smiled sadly. "She needs to get her strength back up and learn how to become the queen."
She smiled and patted my arm, and I looked at her with a blank look on my face. "We can practice that by you being the Luna here, Love."
I didn't say a word and set my jaw, not knowing if what she said was true.
"You can," Frederick said and nodded, and I looked at him. Concern filled his eyes, and I could tell that he was worried about me, as well.
I bit back a small sigh and nodded before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet. "Can we get the house set up, now please?" I asked before I moved a hand across my face, feeling slightly exhausted. "I think it might be time for me to get some rest. I think I am still recovering from yesterday..."
Frederick set his jaw and stayed silent. Pain filled his eyes, and I could tell that he understood what I meant.
My grandmother nodded and grew serious. "Of course," she said softly. "I know." She smiled and squeezed my arm reassuringly. "We'll make sure that you can get some rest and "recover" from yesterday. Ok?"
"Ok," I said before I cleared my throat, feeling relieved that we were going to get everything done so that I could go to bed. "Thank you, Yana. I do appreciate everything you do for me."
