I didn't know where I was going. I didn't care. I had left him there in that elevator. Alone and crumpled. I couldn't bear to see the pain in his eyes any longer. The pain I had caused.

I just needed time.

I just needed time.

I just needed time.

I kept telling myself that everything would be okay eventually. Things like this had a tendency to work themselves out in the end. Right?

Oh, god. Had I just made a huge mistake? Had I just lost him? I remembered his words, his touch, and the pleading in his eyes.

"Don't do this."

"Don't make me lose you too."

"Please, Sabrina"

His voice echoed in my ears, mingling with the sound of traffic. I realized that I was outside. The cold night wind is playing with my hair. I looked around, trying to recognize where I was. This place was familiar, but I couldn't quite place it.

And then it hit me.

I was standing outside Lando's building. It looked different at night. The dimly lit entrance and the empty streets gave it an eerie atmosphere. I hesitated for a moment, debating whether or not to go inside.

"Sabrina?" A voice called out from behind me, causing me to jump. I turned around to see Lando standing there, his expression a mix of surprise and concern.

"Lan..." I mumbled almost to myself. "What are you doing here?"

"At my own building?" He smiled, raising an eyebrow at me.

"Oh, yeah, of course. Sorry." I mentally slapped my forehead. My cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"What are you doing here?" Lando asked, his voice filled with genuine curiosity. I took a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts before responding.

"I...I don't know. I think I just needed to see you," I finally managed to say, my voice barely above a whisper.

Lando's smile softened, and he took a step closer to me. "Is everything okay?" His concern was evident in his eyes, making my heart ache even more. I wanted to smile and say yes, everything was great, but instead I felt my eyes well up with tears.

"No..." My voice broke. I felt the first tears slide down my cheeks, knowing they were going to be the first of many.

"Hey, hey..." Lando took a step closer to me, a little hesitantly. I covered my face with my hands and let out a small sob. "It's okay..." He cooed gently, his hand reaching out to touch my arm comfortingly.

"Okay, you're coming with me." His voice was gentle but firm as he slipped his arm through mine, guiding me into the building and out of the cold wind. He guided me through the halls and, finally, to his door.

I realized how long it had been since I was last here. How long since I had even talked with him. As we entered his apartment, memories flooded back, reminding me of the countless conversations we had shared here. The familiar scent of his cologne mixed with the comforting warmth of the room enveloped me, easing some of the pain I had been carrying.

"Can I get you anything to drink?" He asked me, closing the door and slipping off his coat. I smiled and shook my head. I stood there awkwardly, unsure of what to do next. I remembered how he had said he couldn't be in my life anymore. I didn't know how to act.
