if i had a heart i could love you
if i had a voice i would sing
after the night when i wake up
i'll see what tomorrow brings

When I got home, I had my stomach on water, so I denied myself that glass of wine this time, I still didn't have a bottle opener anyway, but more importantly, I got a cat.

"Come here, my little darling." I squealed and curled up next to DeeDee on the couch, who hadn't moved since I left. How long had I been there? I looked at the clock and realized it was just in time to text Todd.

ME: Hey Toddie, I just got here, Sal is fine, he'll be ready tomorrow.

Todd: Awesome! I'm glad you were with him today, to keep an eye on him and again, I'm sorry if I messed up any of your plans, I appreciate you being there all day!

Yeah, except I wasn't.

ME: No prob! I'm going to go to bed now, I assume today's plans have been moved to tomorrow?

Todd: That's right Y/N, the guy didn't show up after all and he was glad we moved it to tomorrow, so a stone fell from my heart

ME: I'm glad ^^, goodnight Todd!

Todd: GN ♥

I sighed and calmed down a little. It wasn't so bad, was it? Wasn't it so bad to resuscitate a man who totally hates me, shove my fingers down his throat, and then get wet from him, when he barely touches me? I'm not cool, I'm anything but cool. DeeDee crawled into my lap and made herself into a little ball. I bit my lip and decided to try something.

I typed 'Weeping Angels' into the search engine and clicked 'breaking news'. To my surprise, there was one article that had a twisted rumour, that the Weeping Angels had advertised for a new bass guitarist. Nothing more, nothing less, no mention that someone had already been found and the position filled. I snorted that Todd hadn't said anything publicly yet, after all, he's the creator of this band and the manager who manages everything, all the social media, all the touring, and he was damn good at it. I knew from a young age that Todd was smart and calculating. Whenever we were assigned any kind of pairing task at camp, I would go to him, not because I wanted him to do the whole project for me, but our ideas together were absolutely brilliant. I sighed again at the memory, I missed it, those times when you were a kid and knew absolutely nothing about the adult world. We just had these distorted ideas of how adults had a great life. How they made money that could buy anything. But then the harsh reality hit us all.

I rubbed my tired eyes and scratched DeeDee's tummy one last time. I didn't want to take it off, but there was no other way. I staggered to the shower and turned on the hot water, needing to wash the day off me. I thought about what Todd might have for us as a reward. I couldn't wait. As the hot water ran over my body I hissed in pain. When the hot water hit my thighs. I looked down and saw that there was a handprint on both thighs. I squirmed and gently ran my hand over the decal. I bit my lip and thought about what Fisher had said to me before he threw me out of his house, again. I wrapped a towel around me and curled up in my bed, ready to sleep, only I was absolutely not tired, and apparently neither was DeeDee. She hopped up onto my bed and sat down, looking at me.

"Dee, you have your own bed, right next to my bed." I whispered and she turned her head to the side and licked her snout.

"Don't you like it?" I snorted. "Fine, you can sleep with me, but only tonight!" I laughed and patted the spot on the bed next to me, she obeyed and curled up on the other half of the bed. I knew she wouldn't just sleep there tonight, but for the rest of her life. I took a deep breath and threw off my towel, grabbing a t-shirt and crawling under my blanket. I stared at the ceiling for a good hour. I kept thinking about him. What the hell did he mean by 'Not yet' and 'I need you to hate me as much as I hate you'? I rolled onto my side next to DeeDee.
