I don't wanna know all your secrets because I'll tell
It's hard enough being alone with myself
I don't know how long I'll be holding on
I know you tried your hardest I know that you meant well,
but you pushed me to the edge and I slipped and then I fell
I don't know how long I'll be holding on

No one's pov

Another day, another rehearsal for the band, that was going to be waiting for Y/N every day from now on. Y/N was very positive about it, rather naive. She didn't know what to expect. Expect from him.

When she arrived at their another rehearsal, everyone was already in their seats. Including Fisher. From afar, he was already piercing her with his blue electric gaze, as if refusing to acknowledge her existence.

The rehearsal was ready to start.

Bass guitar tuned, positions taken. Mental readiness? Sufficient, at least for now.

"You think you can just waltz in here and replace Travis like it's nothing? He was family to us!" Bluenette growled angrily, as he slung his guitar over his shoulder.

"I'm not replacing anyone, Sal. I'm here because I'm damn good at what I do, unlike some people who are too stuck in their own ego to see talent when it's right in front of them!" Y/N wasn't going to give in to his aggression, she was going to fully confront him.

In fact, arguing with him and deflecting his arguments was not as hard as being in the room with him.

"Oh, spare me the self-righteous crap! You're like a bull in a china shop, trampling over everything we've built, with your arrogant attitude and overbearing playing!" Sal grinned mischievously. The other band members just stared incredulously, should they intervene?

"Arrogant? Coming from Mr. 'I'm the center of the universe'? Newsflash, Sal, this band doesn't revolve around you and your fragile ego!" Ashley couldn't help but laugh at the words coming out of Y/N, she had waited so long for this, waited so long for someone to finally stand up to him and she wouldn't be alone.

Larry never stood up for her, in fact, he never stood up for Sal either, he didn't want to get involved in their arguments, he loved them both equally, he liked Y/N a lot too, so he found himself back in a position where he could just watch and bite his lip nervously.

Todd was always busy running errands around the band, he was in charge of rehearsals, but he was grateful when rehearsals went off without anyone disturbing him, but that certainly wasn't the situation now.

"Fragile ego? Look who's talking! You're the one who can't handle a bit of criticism, without throwing a tantrum!" If Sal wasn't wearing a mask, Y/N would have been able to see his red face. It was a defense at the time and a thing he had extra at. Unlike Y/N, Sal could see her face perfectly as it turned red from second to second.

"Criticism? More like your pathetic attempts to undermine me at every turn because you can't stand the thought of someone else stealing your spotlight!"

"Stealing my spotlight? You wish! You're just a glorified backup player who thinks she's the star of the show!"

"Glorified backup player? I've forgotten more about music than you'll ever know, Sal! Maybe if you spent less time stroking your own damn ego and more time actually practicing, we wouldn't be stuck in this mess and actually do some progress!"
