Evolution

this isn't really a chapter in the story but It would be pretty hard to remember what the creature now looks like due to its evolution

the most noticeable changes are in the creatures head which is now shaped more like a crocodile or a deer head (no antlers) with now more normal teeth inbetween the jagged sharp teeth and now the thing or y/n now has a horn on his nose much like a rhino, the eyes are pretty much the same just more accustomed to fit on the new skull which I will elaborate on how this is possible at the end of this chapter

the body has also changed but not too much, seeing as the emaciated look really worked well for looks but not for combat a thin but thick layer of black skin-like muscles now envelopes a majority of its body, legs, neck. There is also a sort of fin on the back kinda like a shark but I was thinking more Spinosaurus like, this will help it greatly move through water, finally I've decided to give it a extra set of arms because this just sounds awesome

internal changes in the thing/ y/n: first off its brain has changed from more like a bear to more human like still not perfect but hey, we have a monstrous creature modifying itself its not always going to be perfect also forgot to mention this earlier but its grown like a few feet in size nothing to crazy I'm thinking like barley opals height, anyways with this new brain our entity will now be able to sort of communicate with humans, gems, etc just makes the story more interesting

in universe explanation as to why the thing can just changes its body and mind like this: so imagine its in this sort of stasis sap and its uses its hand to replace its own body parts and add others with pervious bones and organs it currently has access to, this would mean hey if we had lets say a deer skull with no antlers we can bring that with up into the "sap" and REMOVE OUR OWN SKULL AND REPLACE IT WITH A BETTER ONE this can also work with organs they just need to be fresh meaning yes in the things weaken state it scooped the insides out of a humans skull (ouch) and extra limbs from the same human hopefully (ouch again) and as you may have noticed from last chapter the thing also took gem shards with it (ooo spooky, nah I just needed a excuse for it to be able to use gem tech, like warp pads and it also gives us an excuse to give him more durability)

I've always loved the idea of a creature, a monster, such a old yet still captivating idea now imagine my autistic ass watching steven universe then combining these two thoughts into this cluster fuck (excuse my language) this story is not guaranteed to be good but I need something to do with steven universe now that there isn't anything new with it coming out, and I severely doubt they'll give us anything after future so have fun!
