The Thing | DISCONTINUED

Crystal?...Gems?

The thing was now on the surface, the sun beam down on him as he began to explore the area, the last time he was on the service seemed like forever ago and this new world was unfamiliar.

Though he was still hungry since fem shards didn't exactly give his body nutrients he quickly found a bear and tore into it hungrily munching after decades of being underground this meal felt divine and he tried to make sure not to waste a bite.

Suddenly voices are heard in the distance getting closer, he pulls himself up into the canopy of the trees as he looks down now hidden by the darkness of the foliage

???: "Fan out, search for any gems"

A woman's voice was heard, and the creature observed the group of gems from above, one was tall not as tall as it but still tall, she wore a white dress and had long curly pink hair

The other one was tall and slender with really faded pink hair and had a pearl on her forehead she was observing the bear he had previously torn through

???: "Hm"

The last one was also big but not bigger than the pink woman she had some sort of square Afro and a visor she was just standing there

The tall slender one approaches the other two

???: "What do you think could have done this?"

???:" I don't know pearl, maybe a corrupted gem?"

The one you now identified as Pearl spoke

"But we've never seen one eat organic matter like this before"

Pearl attempted to look up in thought but instead saw your eight glowing red eyes staring down at her she fell backwards obviously startled

???: what is it pearl?

Pearl: rose, garnet, look!

The other two you now knew as rose and garnet looked where she was pointed and sure enough deep above them in the dark shadows of the canopy you stared down at them your eight glowing red eyes sending a shiver down their spines

Garnet: but I didn't foresee this!

You jumped down from the trees landing a good few meters from them

Rose: "What is it?"

Garnet, Rose, and Pearl summon their weapons

Pearl: "Maybe it's a corrupted gem?"

Garnet: "Then it needs to be bubbled"

Before any chat could be continued you rushed forward snapping your jaws at Pearl who just barely managed to jump out of the way in time the others also jumped back

Rose: "Look at it, it's probably not very durable but those teeth be careful!"

She shouted while narrowly avoiding another snap of your powerful jaws

After the thing tried its best to quickly bite down on any of the gems despite not having pretty much any experience against them, they easily avoided his bites, scratches, etc until Garnet landed one place punch with her gauntlets, a sickening crack was heard and a black substance began leaking out of the chest of the thing causing it great pain

Everyone stood shocked that this could be a gem-related organism was just proven wrong as gems don't bleed or even have bones. This is because this black substance is like the creature's blood and garnet struck the thing in the chest so hard some of its rib cage bones have pierced its flesh

Garnet: what..?

Rose began approaching the injured creature out of pity

Pearl: "ROSE WAIT!"

The thing was barely standing using its arms as support to stop its own body from further piercing itself through its bones as it noticed rose approaching it bore its teeth

Rose: "J-just let me help, ok?"

The creature couldn't understand English, and despite being able to tell body language it didn't care it was hungry, and Rose looked more edible than gems right about now despite the gem on her naval it lunged forward trying to bite down into roses skull only to have garnets gauntlets slam down into its back causing its sharp bones from its rib cage to explode forth, spraying rose in the face with the black blood-like substance, peral quickly pulled rose away from the creature and assuming it to be finished the crystal gems began walking away only to hear bones cracking as the creature hoists its broken body up off the ground barely balancing with its two arms and legs as its blood continue to spill to the ground

"HUNGER, PAIN, STONE, GEM, DEVOUR, DESTROY"

These are the words that circulated from the things animal mind

Garnet having enough of this sent forward her gauntlets exploding them on impact appearing as if to finish the creature off

Rose: "I-I tried to help it"

Pearl: "Rose... it was just an animal most likely"

Rose: It was probably just following its base instincts

Garnet: though that does raise the question, why did it look so human?

Rose bursts out in tears, fearful that she and her allies may have just ended the life of a mutated human as pearl tries her best to comfort, Garnet continues to struggle with her future vision unable to see anything about this creature

After the left from the smoldering crater the thing's razor-sharp now skeletal hands reach out and hoist the more than half-dead y/n from the crater left by the explosion, the thing was extremally injured some of its face was so injured its skull could be shown so it crawls back to the cave full of bones vomiting up remnants of the bear now a glowing amber-like color and wrapping itself in it gather up various gems shards it found fascinating as a sort of coating while in this state the sack of glowing amber attached to the wall as it went into stasis for its first forced evolution.
