AAMIR
Algiers, Algeria.

It's been two weeks since we've been married, and might I say I'm enjoying it too much? I branch by the mall as I close from work to pick up the necklace and flowers I ordered for Nasreen before driving back home.

I arrange everything in my hands properly before walking up to the door. I use my key to unlock the door before going in. I drop everything in the sitting room before walking to where the sounds of dishes are being arranged, which is the kitchen.

"Assalamu Alaikum." I say immediately as I enter the kitchen, walking up towards her to give her a hug, "Waalaikumus salam." She replies to my chest, and I smile. "How was your day?" I ask her while helping her return the remaining dishes where they belong.

"I should be asking you that." She glares, and I laugh. "Well, we can both ask each other, can't we?" I say, walking behind her as she exits the kitchen like some lost kitten.

"Well, mine was boring because I was the only one at home. I baked some cookies and made lunch for us." She smiles. She's not putting on her hijab right now; her hair is not in a ribbon, so I use it as an opportunity to touch her hair, I use my finger to pick up a strand of her hair, and she blushes.

"How was your day?" She asks me, I sigh "a boring day as usual I only had one patient today. Plus, you weren't there, so it was pretty boring." I tease.

"Aww, stop joking, Aamir, and come eat your food," she says, standing up abruptly to hide the smile on her face. We both sit on the table and have lunch before I make up an excuse to get something from the sitting room, so I pick up the bouquet and the necklace before going back to the dining table.

"Surprise," I say, and she pouts, standing up to get them from me. "You didn't have to; you've given me a lot of gifts already." She smiles.
"And you're my wife; you deserve to be spoiled with gifts, so stop complaining and turn around so I can put it on you." I add

I put it on her and carefully removed her hair from the inside, then adjusted the necklace before dragging her towards the mirror to see it properly.
"Here I was thinking the necklace was beautiful, but you took it to another level of beauty. Allahumma barik." I say, kissing her temple.

She immediately turns and gives me a kiss on the cheek. This is the first time she has done this, and can I say I almost couldn't hold in the giggle that threatened to escaped. But before I could say anything. She apologises, ruining the happiness that was brewing within me.

"What do you mean by you're sorry?" I question. "I wasn't; I'm not sure if. Uhm, can we pretend nothing happened?" She stammers her face as red as a beetroot.

"We're not forgetting what just happened because I am not angry, but rather angry that you think you did something wrong." I say, and she swallows.

"You are free to give me kisses at any time of the day and hug me at any time of the day without asking for my permission. Do you understand? and the next time you do apologise for doing so, there are going to be consequences? You're my wife and I am your husband; I am you're halal; there is nothing with what you just did, okay?" I deadpan, and she nods.

To not embarrass her further, I change the topic to "Do you want to go for a walk in the park?" I ask, dragging her up the stairs with me. "You've been in this house for far too long, and then after we can go to your parents house. How does that sound?" I ask

"I'll go get ready." She smiles nodding her head frantically, so I nod at her before she releases my hand and runs up to her room to get ready, i walk into my room to take a quick shower too.
