I never thought I'd be back here again. When I left 6 years ago I made a promise to myself to leave everything behind , but I couldn't say no to Marina only because she did nothing wrong. Honestly the faster this is over and done with the better.
"This place is beautiful " Charles spoke up next to me and I saw him admire the scenery. "This is nice and all but after my cousin's wedding we're going to my grandparents and they own a massive farm with a vineyard and a horse ranch on it . I'm more excited to show you that then this wedding" I explained with a genuine smile.
"Is this where you grew up?" He asked looking at me and I nodded with a sigh this time. "Unfortunately yes , I told myself 6 years ago that I wouldn't come back to this town but i couldn't say no to my cousin " i spoke up as we walked up to my cousin's house. I pressed the button at the gate and it opened.
"If we are out in public take your watch off , the crime rate in South Africa is high. Unless you want your wrist cut off for it " i remembered when I saw his watch. He placed it in my handbag in one of the pockets .
My cousin came out of the house with a red tear stained face and when she locked eyes with me she broke down crying. I ran to her and held her tightly

I'm sorry that I made you fly all the way here for it to not even happen " she explained with a sniffle making me shake my head this time and hug her again.
"Gaan pak n tas dan ry ons na ouma hulle toe - go pack a bag , we're driving to our grandparents " i tried to brighten the mood which helped and she waved at Charles then went inside.
Charles Joris and Andrea was so confused. "The wedding is off , she found out she's pregnant he admitted to cheating on her for months so he canceled the wedding because she deserves better and now she's moving in with my grandparents. So now I told her to pack a bag we're driving 9 hours to our grandparents farm " I explained and they looked mad at the dude and they dont even know him.
"9hours?" Andrea asked realizing what I said. I nodded with a sigh. " its a 2 hour drive then we get to the provincial line into Gauteng then its 4 hours through Gauteng to the Limpopo provincial border then the last 3 hours to make it to the farm , there isn't an airport close to the farm so we have to drive unfortunately " i explained going on my phone to look for a rental car that's faster than a normal car but can hold 5 people.
