"My mother was a witch, she was burned alive
Thankless little bitch
For the tears I cried"Timothy 'Tim' Drake, stilled. The person singing it was talented. Very much, in fact. The voice itself seemed similar, but Tim could not place it. He glanced at Nightwing and Batman. They were hearing it, too.
"Take her down now
Don't wanna see her face
Blistered and burnt, can't hide my disgrace"Batman seemed to know the voice, though. He tilted his head slightly before the corners of his mouth tugged up slightly. He made a motion to follow him quietly, and the younger boys did.
"Twenty-seven, everyone was nice
Got to see them, make them pay the price
See their bodies out on the ice
Take my time"
Tim gasped, and so did Dick. It was Red Hood. The same person whose voice seemed to make criminals tremble. He was running across the rooftops, keeping an eye on something on the ground below him."Am I evil?
Yes I am
Am I evil, I am man, yes"Now that Tim thought about it, yes, it did sound like Jason's voice. He had known the fact that Jason, in his Robin days, used to sing creepy songs to creep the criminals out, he had even seen it a couple of times on some of the videos that were of that time.
"Watched my mother die
I lost my head
Revenge now I sought
To break with my bread
Takin' no chance
You come with me
I'll split you to the bone
Help set you free"Jason stopped, he took out his guns and...
SNAP. SNAP. SNAP. SNAP. SNAP. Tim heard the sharp intake of breath from Batman and Dick.
"Twenty-seven, everyone was nice
Got to see them, make them pay the price
See their bodies out on the ice
Take my time"
He jumped down."Am I evil?
Yes I am
Am I evil, I am man, yes I am
Oh oh"
A grappling hook-thingy caught itself on the edge of the roof. ZIPPPPPPP. Jason climbed up, sitting down with his legs dangling down the building's side."On with the action now, I'll strip your pride
I'll spread your blood around
I'll see you ride
Your face is scarred with steel, wounds deep and neat
Like a double dozen before you
Smell so sweet"
He took two things out of his pocket, Tim could not tell what."Am I evil?
Yes I am
Am I evil, I am man, yes I am"
Tim squinted. A cigarette and a lighter. Jason lit the cigarette and placed it in his mouth. He took a puff. (Just so that anyone who reads this shit knows, I have never smoked and none of my close friends or family smoke, so it may be inaccurate.)"My soul is longing before, await my heir
Sent to avenge my mother, sleep myself
My face is long forgotten, my face not my own
Sweet and timely whore, take me home"
He slowly lay down on the roof, looking at the night sky."Am I evil?
Yes I am
Am I evil? I am man, yes I am"
He took another puff."I'm with the action now, I'll strip your pride
I'll spread your blood around, I'll see you ride
Your face is scarred with steel, your spirits dance
Like a double dozen before you, no romance"
Jason slowly got up, turning around. Tim, Batman and Nightwing didn't move from their crouched spot a roof away."Am I evil?
Yes I am
Am I evil? I am man
Am I evil?
Yes I am
Am I evil? I am man
Yes I am"Jason took a deep breath.
"You gonna help me? I could use ya help. I have some information about a large gang around here selling drugs to children. Really large. And seeing as Old Man Bats is a grump, I'm not allowed to kill any of them." Jason said, looking right at the group.
How did he know? was the only thing that came to Tim's mind.
Batman was the first to step out. "Why did you kill them?"
Jason shrugged, "Didn't kill them. Rubber bullets. Why else do you think I went down to check whether or not they were conscious? Well, that, and tying them up."
He got up, and then jumped onto another roof, and then another, "You assholes comin'?"
