I clutched my bag to me as I walked home, head hung low. After I'd cried for I don't even know how long, I went to the nurse and faked a illness. She sent me home. What a nice lady. I had to sneak out of the bathroom because Ryker had been lurking around. I had to give the boy props though, he stood outside the bathroom banging on the door for so long I had almost gone out to him. He called to me several times but after who knows how ling he gave up and I was met with silence. Only after I had cried out every drop of liquid in my body, I peeked my head out the door. Ryker was sitting slouched against the wall with his head in his hands as if he too were in pain. His eyes were shut but they snapped open as soon as he heard the door. Picking up his head, he had opened his mouth to say something but before he could I bolted right to the nurse. And then repeated that process, bolting out the main doors.
Now I was speed walking toward Mrs. Blanco's, hoping no one was following. I chuckled humorlessly, I wouldn't put it past him. Ryker was creepy like that.
Fifteen minuets later I was standing on the front porch of a cute little brick house. The rug in front of the door read "Welcome Amigos!" It was cute and matched the house nicely. I knocked gently and waited patiently. The dark, green door creaked open and I was greeted by a petite, white haired lady. She had bright blue eyes and a string of pearls hung around her neck. She wore a light pink sun dress, she was very pretty.
"Hola, Mrs. Blanco?" I asked.
"Hola! Sí, mi nombre es Mrs. Blanco. Y tu?"
"Aye, mi nombre es Lexington Jacobs. Is my brother here?" I asked her.
"Ahhh! Lexington! Sí, Roberto is here. I wasn't expecting you for a few hours yet." She smiled at me kindly.
"Yes, we'll I left school early and I thought I would just get Robbie now." I explained.
"Okay. Let me get him."
Several minuets later Robbie was on the porch beside me, pulling on his sweatshirt.
"Adiós, Señora. Thank you!"
"Adiós!" She called.
Upon arriving home, I hung my jacket on the peg by the door and did the same thing for Robbie. I fixed him a snack and we watched movies most of the day. As four thirty approached I had an idea. It had warmed up immensely and it would be perfecto!
"Robbie, do you like the beach?" I asked him casually.
"YES! Mamá taked me there before! We made sand castles and splashed in the water. It was fun!" He squealed happily.
"Do you wanna go now?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"Now?!" He exclaimed.
"Yeah."
"YES!!" He yelled.
"Alright, I want you to go up to your room and get swim shorts."
"Okay!" He turned on his feel and sprinted up the stairs, I chuckled softly at his enthusiasm. Slowly, I went to my own room. I pulled open the closet doors, curious as to if my mother had thought to get me a bathing suit as well. Entering my closet, I walked to where there was a series of drawers and began pulling them out. As I opened the third one I gasped. The entire drawer was swimsuits! Obviously not knowing what style I liked my mother wanted to be prepared. There were two one-piece bathing suits, two tanki swimsuits, and the rest of the drawer were brightly colored bikinis. I shook my head. Leave it to my mother to pull something like this. I shrugged before pulling out a bikini top and matching bottoms.
I stepped into the bright blue bottoms and tied the strings on my hips slightly tighter. I then tied on the matching blue top before tugging in a pair of jean shorts and my bright cropped tee. My dark belly showed slightly and I couldn't help thinking how cute a belly button ring would look. Note to self: ask mom about that later.
