Biana

Biana rubbed her eyes as she collapsed on her bed. She'd been staying up late finalising the last details for her submission to the fashion designing contest - with the deadline nearing closer, Biana had to work even harder. She'd been working on this for a month though, it should be good enough. Biana tried to find little solace from that thought and passed out into a not so nice sleep...

Run. Run. Run. She had to keep running, running from the cold laugh. The laugh that had been haunting her for half a year now. Yes, a year - but Biana was too scared of it. 'You can't run, little girl,' the voice said, sending chills down Biana's spine. Her body obeyed to the voice and suddenly her legs were paralysed, unable to move. A traitorous tear slipped down Biana's cheek as she heard the sound of glass shatter and a bony hand reached out to her. Now it was the part when she screamed, screamed so loud she was sure that the whole world heard her. The glass scraped across her skin and dug in to her flesh, drawing crimson red blood. The pain unbearable.

"No!" Biana shouted as she woke up, covered in cold sweat and the sheets twisted around her. Biana hurriedly leapt out of bed and looked in a mirror. No scars. Biana let out a breath she didn't realise she'd been holding. She knew it was just a nightmare but she couldn't help it. After she'd been diagnosed (is that the term? sorry I didn't know what it was) with anxiety she found herself worrying about everything all the time. There's never an action or a choice that couldn't go wrong or have a consequence. That was Biana's motto. Nothing can ever be too good.

"So, how'd you sleep last night?" Sophie asked Biana at school the next day. Biana sighed. "Same old," Sophie was the only person she'd told about the nightmares, sure her family knew about everything else, but the nightmares seemed more... personal. Something only a best friend could help with. Besides, it also helped that Sophie was going through something similar, with the stress and stuff.

"Class, if I could have your attention please," Dame Alina said, their school principal, cutting off what Sophie was about to sayWhen the assembly hall had quieted down, she smoothed her wavy caramel hair and announced, "With The Winter Gala coming up, I would like to have the meeting committee working as hard as they can today - so can they please meet me in my office. That's all for today!"

That was when Linh came bouncing over to them, followed closely by Marella. "Guys, this dance is going to be so good!" Linh was part of the decorating committee. "So, before I go to Dame Alina's office, do you guys want to go to the mall with Marella and me this evening?" Sophie and Biana nodded. "Cool," Marella said and both girls walked off.

That weekend, the girls met up at their nearest mall. "Hey!" Biana heard Sophie call out to her, waving her over to their group. "Took you long enough," Marella scoffed when she jogged over. (you can't run in heels - everyone knows that 🙄) "You just had to be fashionably late - didn't you?" Sophie grinned. Biana responded by giving her a dramatic hairflip. (this why I love her sm) Linh giggled. "Come on guys, let's go!"

The girls spent their whole trip walking into stores and coming out with no bank account and loads of useless junk that they definitely didn't need. (lol that's literally me going on shopping trips all the time tho) "Guy's, we need buy our dresses - the shop's closing soon," Sophie said, glancing at the clock worriedly. Then, it was a mad scramble for finding the perfect dress, which was hard. None of the dresses Biana found felt right until they went the last shop.

They all gasped collectively when they came in. There were dresses for everyone there. Soon enough, they all found the perfect outfits. (I won't describe them, to keep them as surprises for the dance chapter, where I'll also put in pictures for) As Biana came out, the girls immediately squealed. "Biana, you look so great!" Linh complemented which made Biana blush

"Yeah, you can impress Dex," Marella added, wiggling her eyebrows. Biana cleared her throat. "Uh, why would I want that?" (why, indeed - I mean there's absolutely NO reason, it truly is a mystery) Sophie's jaw dropped to the ground. "You, mean, he hasn't asked you yet?" Linh frowned. "Wylie's even asked me, after a lot of blushing and stuttering though. Aww, poor guy's afraid of rejection!" Marella glared at Biana. "But he doesn't have to be afraid, right? You'd say yes?" Biana was sure her face was as hot as the sun (but not as hot as Keefe... sorry I just had say that) when she said, or more like awkwardly stumbled through the English language, "W-what? I-I- a- wha- Why would- I-I-I-I do-n't-" Biana was saved from her torture by the runner of the store who said, "Sorry, girls, but the shop's closing now," Biana sighed a sigh of relief and, ignoring the glares being shot at her by her friends, tried her best to look disappointed. "Oh, gee, that's horrible. Sorry guys, but we have to go now." Her friends gave her deadpanned expressions. She was not convincing. (don't listen to them, Biana, they just don't know talent when they see it)

When Biana got home, she tried to ignore the burning question going through her head. Would she say yes?

Guess I'll just leave you with that cliffhanger like the wonderful, person I am 😌. (hehehehehehe *insert voldemort noises here*) Just to clarify, this is set after Dex goes to Sophie's house so that's why she's here. Also, because I'm bored, I bring you more quotes!

You did something oozy without me?
