Okay, one friend down, one more to go. Biana thought as she sat down for lunch the next day where, once again, Sophie's presence was no where to be seen. All of Biana's friends were worried now. After some protesting, Biana, Marella and Linh gave in and told them what had happened with Sophie - or at least what they knew.

All of this made Biana sick to her stomach, which left her pathetic attempt at eating to be her just poking around half-heartedly at her roast potatoes. Dex, who was on her left, put a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, Biana, she's fine. I've known my cousin since we were five, trust me." Biana nodded at him and when back to poking at her food, trying to ignore the ghostly chill left by the empty space on her right.

Round and round they went, the same old routine. Keefe trying to cheer up everyone with jokes when, in reality, the bright icy blue of his eyes seemed to be as dim as ever. Tam and Fitz asking around to find out what happened to Sophie - no one knew. Marella's crease in her eyebrows never going away. Linh comforting everyone and basically being the group therapist. Dex visiting Biana every day to help her with what she was going through. And Biana feeling she would vomit from worrying too much every time she'd think about Sophie.

Biana let out a sigh as she finished off her homework at her desk in her bedroom. It had been a full week- or, wait was it two? Biana didn't know anymore- all she wanted was her best friend back. She looked up from her paper to her window - it was already late evening, about 9:00.

Biana heard a soft knock on her door. It was so quiet that Biana could barely hear it. She still heard it though. Biana went to her bedroom door and swung it open. It was...

Aaand that's the end!

Jk I wouldn't leave you hanging like that XD XD

"Sophie," Biana said, her voice nothing more than a whisper. Sophie shuffled awkwardly in front of her, a pillow and blanket in her hands. "Umm, can I sleep here tonight?" she said. "I know, I've been a horrible friend and I shouldn't have blown you guys off like that but I-" Sophie was interrupted by her air supply being cut off by Biana's soul-crushing hug. "Of course you can stay here tonight," Biana said as she finally let go.

"You sure about this?" Biana asked Sophie as they stood in front of East Way High's school doors. Sophie nodded shakily. "Yeah, I can do this," She probably murmured that last part to herself but Biana still answered, "You can Sophie. We're all gonna be there for you - we're your friends." Sophie took a deep breath as she clung to Biana's hand with a death grip and took a step into East Way High.

——————————————————————————-

When they sat down together at their usual lunch table, there were a lot of where-the-hell-were-you-Sophies and omg-we-were-so-worried-about-yous and definitely loads of I'm-literally-going-stab-you-Sophie-never-do-that-agains. When everyone had calmed down, Sophie told them she'd tell them what had happened.

This made everyone tense up. "Sophie, I know we were mad, but you don't have to tell us if you don't want to," Linh said and everyone nodded in agreement. I have Sophie's hand a small squeeze and a reassuring smile. She thankfully returned it.

"No, it's okay. Um, I was going through files in Grady and Edaline's office and uh... I..." Biana noticed how Sophie chose to say 'Grady and Edaline'. She took a deep breath. "I found my adoption certificate," she said with a tremble in her voice.

Biana didn't gasp like everyone else - Sophie had told her last night - but she still shared everyone else's expressions. Sophie hugged her arms as she added, "And I don't why I'm making such a big deal about this. I mean, people get adopted all the time, I just feel like: they've kept that lie for sixteen years, are there other things they've lied about like... You know what? Sorry I shouldn't be so dramatic about this, I'm sorry for wasting your time - I'll go now."

Sophie was stopped by a suffocating hug from Keefe, followed quickly by Biana. Soon, everyone was in a group hug - even Tam. "Foster, just because we didn't react immediately, doesn't mean we don't care. We're here for you." Keefe said and they all sat down. Dex nodded. "Yeah, and, for record, you'll always be my annoying older cousin." This earned a chuckle and a small smile.

While everyone went back to their conversations, Biana noticed Keefe whisper something into Sophie's ear and she nodded in response. "We're just going to head out for a moment," Sophie announced, standing up with Keefe and they walked off to the hallway. Biana also noticed Fitz staring at them both, a hint of jealousy in his stare. Ok, a LOT of jealousy in his stare.

When they hadn't come back for about five minutes, Biana decided to check on them. She walked down the school hallways until she heard Sophie's voice behind a door. Biana crouched behind it, eavesdropping. (what? only the BEST friends eavesdrop on third friend's conversations with cute boys)

"So, what are you saying Keefe?" Biana heard Sophie ask. "I'm saying that I don't want to see you like that again," Biana heard Keefe answer. "Like what?"
"Like that. Doubting yourself and not knowing how amazing you are." Keefe's voice went softer at the last part. Sophie laughed. "Keefe, I don't think you know the real me," Biana heard footsteps, probably Keefe closing the distance between him and Sophie. "Sophie, I know better than you think I do," Biana was surprised by hearing Keefe call Sophie by her real name. "Do you?" Keefe laughed. "Yeah, like how you're so in love with me," he said, in a joking voice. But Sophie's voice wasn't when she said, "You wouldn't be entirely wrong with that."

Biana's eyes widened- this was definitely the best conversation she'd eavesdropped on. Not that she'd actually eavesdropped before hehe...

"What? Sophie I..." Keefe said, his usual snark missing form his voice. "You what?" Sophie asked. Then there was a silence. Biana rushed in to find Sophie's hands around Keefe's neck and his hands on her waist. But the most important detail was that they were kissing. It was then that Biana practically shattered everyone in the world's eardrums with a high-pitched squeal.

Ta-daaa! Hooray for Sokeefe 🥳🥳🥳. I loved writing that chapter SO much, even if it was the longest I've written... I think. I dunno. But what I have realised is that I never continued the whole nightmare thing with Biana (only now? ok I guess...) which I PROMISE I will go into in the next chapter from Biana's perspective. Also I literally just checked the stats right now and OMG 150 READS?!? Thank you so much if you're one of those people - this is what encourages me to keep on writing.

Bye for now ;)
