Biana
Who was that woman at the door? How was she even here - this was school property? The woman didn't explain herself. She just marched across the hall and took Dex by the wrist. "Come along Dex," she said bluntly. Biana looked at Dex, panicked. "Dex, what's going on?" The woman focused her cold gaze in Biana. "I am Dex's mother - and he's leaving." Biana looked at Dex. He had his gaze focused on the ground. "Dex - she isn't serious, right?" Biana asked - Dex didn't answer. "His father and I are travelling out of town for business, and Dex is coming with us,". Dex's mother finally explained.

Biana looked around, panicked. "Well, I'm sure Dex can stay here while you're there and-" Sophie tried to explain but Dex's mother cut her off. (srry - I can't remember her name lol) "Dex is coming with us," she said and crinkled her nose, "I never liked this place anyway - it isn't the right place for Dex." That was it for Biana. She finally snapped. "How do you know what's good for your son? You don't even pay attention to him most of the time!" Dex's mother clutched a hand to her chest. "How dare y-" Biana ignored her. "You know, if you actually spent any time with your son, you would learn to see how much of a wonderful person he is! A person you don't deserve!"

Dex

(I'm so srry but I'm literally dying of laughter rn because I tried to spell Dex and it spelt Dec XD XD... my sense of humour is broken)
Dex looked up from the spot on the ground he was staring at. Biana was standing up for him? No one had done this for him before. And just when he thought that girl couldn't get any more amazing. He was about to say something when his mother thundered, "Be quiet, insolent little girl!"

Biana froze but Dex didn't. He yanked his hand away from his mother with the speed of light. His mother glared at him with the fury of a thousand suns - Dex didn't care. "Look, you can belittle me all you want, but you do not insult Biana!" Dex was surprised - he'd never spoken to anyone like that before. "I'm done waiting for you to start treating me like your son! I'm not going with you!" he shouted.

Dex thought about the memories he'd made, the people he met at East Way High. He wasn't leaving all of that. Dex looked to Biana. He wasn't leaving her. "This place is my home. I'm not going with you," he said calmly.

Silence. You could hear a pin drop. "Where will you stay?" Dex's mother finally asked. Dex breathed a sigh of relief - until her question sunk in. "He could stay with us," someone said from behind him. Dex turned around - it was Kesler and Juline! "I know that you don't know us that well - but we're good friends with Sophie's parents, so you can definitely trust us - and all we'll do is provide you shelter - nothing permanent," Juline said.

Dex felt a smile spread on his face and he nodded. Kesler and Juline smiled back. "So, can I stay?" he asked. Dex was unsure if his mother would say yes after his whole outburst. She seemed to have a tired look on her face. She then took a deep breath. "You can stay," she said and it took everything in Dex to not squeal in excitement. But then he realised something: he was leaving his parents. Not permanently, of course, but it was still for a long time. As distant as they were, Dex would still miss them. He cleared his throat. "I'll miss you," he said and he could've sworn that there was a hint of a smile on his mother's face before he left.

Biana

Biana couldn't help smiling. Dex was staying! She was about to turn to him to talk to him when she felt someone tap her on the shoulder. "Excuse me, but are you Biana Vacker?" an older woman asked. Biana frowned, confused as to what was happening. "Uh, yeah." The woman nodded. "Good, come with me please." Biana looked to Dex. Dex smiled. "It's fine - go, I'll stay here." Biana followed the woman.

Dex

Dex had just been talking to Keefe when he saw Biana come back into the hall. "Hey, Biana!" Dex called, waving Biana over. "Hey, Dex. Can I talk to you for a second?" she asked when she came over. Dex frowned. "Uh, yeah sure." he nodded at Keefe before leaving to go outside with Biana.

"So, what is it?" Dex asked once they'd gotten outside. They were sitting on the roof (they're such rebels 👀) before a beautiful purple sunset. Biana's face remained serious. "Uh, the lady told me... she told me that I won the fashion contest." Dex beamed. "Biana, that's amazing! What's the problem then..." His voice trailed off as he remembered. "Oh, you get to go to New York." All of that stuff with his mother was for nothing? They were still going to be separated. Dex's face fell.

Then, he heard laughing. Dex's head snapped up. It was Biana! She was laughing! What would she be laughing? "I'm sorry... I'm sorry - it's just that. You seriously think I would go to New York?" Biana said between breaths. "Wait, so you aren't going to New York? But it's your dream!" Biana smiled. "Yeah, but... New York can wait. I'm going to stay with you." Dex returned the smile gratefully. They didn't need to say anything else. They just enjoyed each other's silence and gazed at the sunset together. Basking in the warm comfort of a Home.

Ta da! That's the end! I hope you enjoyed this story as much as I did. I'll admit, I think my writing went down a bit towards the end but I was still determined to finish it. Thank you so much for going with me on this journey, especially because this was my first book - I appreciate you so much. Also, we're finishing this book with 900 views! What?! If we get to the 1k mark I will definitely make a new part about it. (it'll probably be me just in caps lock the entire time tho 🤷‍♀️) I am working on another book which is a Fedex fanfic because it is my literal OTP so make sure to keep an eye out, if you ship it that is, for the first upload - it'll probably be in a couple weeks. Once again, thank you so much and I hope you have a good day/night. :)
