Adrien felt a surge of anxiety as he stared at the ceiling of his dimly lit room. He had just returned from an unsuccessful audition, and he wondered if he would ever make it as a singer. He was about to drift into a restless sleep when his phone buzzed on the nightstand. He picked it up and saw that it was Neo, his best friend.

Adrien answered, trying to sound cheerful,

Adrien: Hello, What's up?

Neo: Hello bro, I'm calling to invite you to our housewarming party tomorrow. You know, the one I told you about a month ago? Remember that we were finding a house to move in to?

Adrien lied. He had completely forgotten about Neo's party. He felt a pang of guilt for not being more supportive of his friend, who had recently moved in with his boyfriend Charles. Lately he had a lot going on inside his head. His competition was approaching him and he had nothing prepared.

Adrien: Oh, yeah, sure, I remember.

Neo asked eagerly,

Neo: So, you're coming, right?

It's been quite a long time since they last met. After graduation Neo and Adrien didn't meet as he went directly back to his city H. And Neo wasn't able to accompany him to the audition because of Chloe's emergency. The housewarming was the only thing which could reunite the friends in these past 3 months.

Adrien: Of course, I wouldn't miss it for the world. What time is it?"

Neo: It starts at seven, but you can come earlier if you want. We'll have food, drinks, music, and lots of fun. Everyone will be there. It's been quite a long time all of us here are missing you.

Adrien was hesitant before asking it but he still decided to ask it,

Adrien: Would Rome be there too?

Neo: I'm still not sure. Last time when I talked to him was when he was busy with his uncle's business. He called him to ask him for help.

Adrien was unhappy with the answer that disappointment was reflecting in his voice,

Adrien: Oh I see. Anyways I'll be there on time.

Neo: Awesome, I can't wait to see you. And don't worry about bringing anything, we have everything covered. Just bring yourself and your good vibes.

Adrien: Okay, cool. Once again congratulations dude. I'll see you tomorrow.

Neo: Yep thank you. Bye.

Adrien hung up the phone and sighed. He was happy for Neo and Charles, who had found their dream home and each other.

But he was also disappointed in himself. He had lost his hopes after failing his audition that he got no new ideas and will to continue writing the music for competition. He was lost...

He wished he had a career that he loved, instead of facing constant rejection and disappointment.

He shook his head and tried to banish the negative thoughts. He decided to focus on the positive: he the loyal friends who cared about him, and he had a party to look forward to. He got up from his bed and went to his closet. He searched for a suitable outfit and a gift for the newly shifted couple. He settled on a casual shirt and jeans, and picked a gift. He hoped they would like it.

The next day, Adrien arrived at Neo and Charles' new house, which was located in a quiet and cozy neighborhood. He rang the doorbell and was greeted by a smiling Neo, who hugged him tightly.

Neo: Welcome dude all of us were waiting for you. So glad you're here.
