The moonlight cast a soft glow over the backyard, where Neo and Charles' housewarming party was in full swing. The guests were enjoying the food, drinks, and music, while admiring the new house and the lovely backyard.

Adrien, Rei, Noah and the newly shifted couple were sitting at a table, chatting and laughing. Adrien felt relaxed and happy, especially after meeting his friends after a while.

He thought that maybe things were looking up for him, after all. But still absence of that one person was still bothering.

Suddenly, they heard footsteps approaching from the front door. They all turned their heads curiously, wondering who it could be. Adrien's eyes widened with anticipation, hoping that it could be the one he was looking for. He hadn't seen him in months, since he left for City H. He was hoping that he would surprise him with a visit.

When the person appeared it was a female figure rather than a male figure to his disappointment, it was not Rome. It was Chloe, in a business suit and high heels. She looked out of place and unwelcome, as she walked into the backyard with a smug smile. No one was expecting her, and some didn't even know who she was.

Charles got up from his seat and greeted her with a smile. He introduced her to the others, and asked her how she managed to get here,

Charles: She is my younger sister, Chloe. Actually she was planning to pay a visit here but with the whole family of mine. But her schedule was overlapping so I invited her over today.

Everyone was happy meeting Chloe. They welcomed her and asked her to take a seat. She sat beside Rei.

Rei: That's okay. We all are Pleased to meet you.

She noticed that behind Chloe's phone case there was a picture with an oil painting which developed her interest,

Rei: Do you like art??

Chloe: It calms my mind.

She embrassingly added,

Chloe: I can't draw well really but I love to look around the art galleries and museums.

Rei: Then you are cordially invited to my exhibition which is soon going to held.

Chloe exclaimed,

Chloe: ARE YOU AN ARTIST?

Rei: What do you think?

Chloe looked at Neo before saying further to ask him with her eyes. She answered,

Chloe: I would love to come there!!! Send me the details!! Here, this is my contact information.

Rei to Charles: You have to bring her when I finalise the date.

Charles: I can't help her. It's totally up to her boss who keeps her fckin busy.

Chloe: I'll drop by. Don't worry.

Rei: Yes you have to.

All of them were enjoying their time instead of that one guy, who was feeling a surge of anger and disappointment.

He was zoning out cursing Rome in his own. He wondered what Rome was doing, and if he ever thought about him. He felt a pang of longing and sadness, as he lost himself in his thoughts.

He whispered softly,

Adrien: That jerk.

"Woah who is this lost cat"

He was snapped out of his reverie, when he felt someone waving in front of his eyes. He blinked and looked up, and his heart skipped a beat.

It was Rome. He was standing in front of him wearing a varsity jacket and a smirk. He looked as handsome and charming as ever, with his dark hair, green eyes, and stubbled chin.

Adrien couldn't believe his eyes. He was shocked and thrilled to see him. He smiled widely and stood up, almost knocking over his chair. He walked towards him, ignoring others.

Rome teased him,

Rome: Now you look like a happy cat, jumping all around.

Adrien hid his smile and pouted, pretending that he was not that excited. He said that it was not true,

Adrien grabbed him by his collar and tried to look angry made others wonder what's is wrong with him? Shouldn't he be happy to see him after a long time..

Adrien: Where the fuck were you? You didn't call or text me much like you said you would.

Rome smiled and placed his hand on Adrien to calm him,

Rome: I apologise for not being available to you. I promise I'll come and meet you and text you often.

Adrien acted harshly on the outside But he couldn't hide the joy in his eyes, and the warmth in his voice. He was really happy to see him, after these long and lonely months.

Noah looked at them in confusion.

He watched as Rome and Adrien laughed and chatted animatedly, their eyes sparkling with joy.

He felt a strange pang in his chest, a mix of envy and confusion. He had known Adrien for years, but he had never seen him so dull and lifeless when Rome was not around. It was as if Adrien's whole world revolved around Rome, and Noah was just a bystander.

Noah wondered what was wrong with him. Why did he feel this way? He had no romantic feelings for Adrien, or so he thought. He was happy for him, wasn't he? Then why did he feel like he was losing something? Why did he wish he could be the one to make Adrien smile like that?

Noah shook his head, trying to clear his mind. He told himself it was nothing, just a passing phase.

He told himself he was being silly, that he had nothing to be jealous of. He told himself he was happy for Adrien, and he deserves happiness either with him or without him.

But deep down, he knew he was lying to himself.
