Adrien just came out of the audition room, where he had given his best performance.

He glanced at his phone and saw a text from Noah. He had promised to meet him to grab a meal with him after the audition, but he had forgotten about it in his nervousness. He quickly typed a reply and headed outside, hoping to find Noah waiting for him.

Noah was leaning against his car, scrolling through his phone. He looked up as he saw Adrien approaching and smiled but when Noah saw him walking towards him, He felt a pang of worry.

His smile disappeared as Adrien looked gloomy and sad, not happy and cheerful. His eyes were downcast, and he didn't seem to notice Noah until he waved at him.

Adrien gave him a weak smile and a nod, but he could tell something was wrong.

Trying to sound casual, Noah asked, hoping that Adrien had just gotten some constructive criticism, not a rejection,

Noah: How did it go?

He shrugged and said,

Adrien: I didn't make it. I failed the audition.

Noah's heart sank for him. Adrien sounded so defeated, so hopeless. He had put so much effort and emotion into this, and now he had nothing to show for it. Noah wanted to say something to cheer him up, to make him feel better, but he didn't know what to say.

So he did the only thing he could think of. He hugged Adrien.

He wrapped his arms around him and pulled him close, feeling his body tense and then relaxed. He whispered in his ear,

Noah: You didn't fail, Adrien. You tried your best, and that's what matters. You have talent, and you have passion. Don't give up on your dreams, okay? You'll get another chance. I believe in you.

Those words were enough to help Adrien stand back on his feet. He was thankful that at least he had one person by his side who could offer his shoulder to him.

Noah felt Adrien nod slightly, and he hoped he believed him. He hoped he knew how much he cared, how much he admired him, how much he wanted him to be happy at that time.

As they broke the hug, Adrien saw a familiar face in the crowd. It was Rome. He had been waiting for him to appear. He was hoping that at least Rome would be able to hear him from the stage. At least Rome would be there to motivate him, cheer for him. But Rome couldn't make it...

Rome called out Adrien's name, and Noah saw Adrien's face change. He looked surprised, and then angry, and then sad again. He didn't know who that guy was. He asked,

Noah: Your friend?

Adrien: Mhmm..

Adrien faced Noah and told him,

Adrien: Take me with you once I'll be done from here. I'll leave for H city today.

Noah: Sure I don't have anything left to do too. We can have dinner in H city then.

Adrien: Wait here I'll be done soon.

Rome was confuse as he had no idea about Noah. For him Adrien was talking to a stranger being over friendly. Rome couldn't wait longer and called Adrien once again,

Rome: Adrien!! Hurry!!

Adrien walked towards Rome with no change in emotions. Rather he was disappointed in Rome and in himself too.

Rome: You did it right?

Adrien: I failed...

Rome wasn't expecting this answer. He wanted to say something, anything, to make Adrien smile, to make him happy, to make him laugh.

But he knew this wasn't the right time. Adrien had just failed his audition, the one he had been preparing for months. Rome asked,

Rome: Let's go grab drinks okay?

Adrien's answer was unexpected to Rome. He wasn't prepared for that. Those words slammed him hard.

Adrien: I'm leaving for H city. I'm going back to dorm.

Rome was thunderstruck. He wasn't expecting him to leave so suddenly he replied,

Rome: No whyy??? Stay a bit longer. There is no need to rush it.

Adrien: I don't have any purpose left to stay here. I had packed my bags already. I'll go with Noah he lives there too.

Rome: Why him? I can drop you off too.

Adrien: Don't worry I know Noah from a very long time. He is Neo's older brother. I can go with him.

Rome felt a wave of sadness wash over him. He had met Adrien at a Neo' house a few days ago, and they had instantly clicked.

They had spent hours talking, laughing, fighting and teasing each other.

Rome felt too close with Adrien in just a few days. He was so habitual of annoying him that he couldn't imagine how he was going to spend his days when Adrien wouldn't be there anymore.

He wanted to keep irritate him, tease him. Moreover he wanted to spend more time with like forever...

But now it was over. Adrien was leaving, and Rome didn't know if he would ever see him again. He wasn't prepared for the goodbye. He wanted to spend more time with him, he wanted Adrien to stay.

He blamed himself for not being able to help him with his audition, for not being there to support him, to encourage him, to cheer him. For not being able to make him happy, for not being enough for him....

He tried to hide his emotions, to act casual, to be supportive. He said,

Rome: Call me when you reach, okay?

He hoped Adrien would hear the unspoken words behind his voice, the words he couldn't say out loud. That deep down he needs him there. He would miss him. He didn't want this all to end here

Adrien smiled at him, a faint, sad smile that didn't reach his eyes.

Adrien: I will. And hey, you can come visit me anytime, you know. Whenever you have nothing to do, My place is always open for you.

Rome felt a flicker of hope in his chest. He heard the unspoken words behind Adrien's voice, the words he wanted to hear. I miss you. I need you.

He smiled back, a genuine, warm smile that lit up his face. He said,

Rome: "I will. And hey, I always want to see you. Even if I have something to do I'll come and see you. Wait for me.

They looked into each other's eyes, and for a moment, they forgot about the distance, the pain, the uncertainty. They hugged each other, one last time, and whispered their goodbyes.

BEEP BEEP

The car's horn was honked by Noah telling Adrien to come over fast. So, they can take his bags and leave.

Adrien: Bye.

Rome: Take care...
