"So how old are you, Erik?" I asked, somehow after all the time we had spent together we had not figured out each others age.
"I am in fact, 23, I believe." He stated a matter-of-factly.
"You believe?" I questioned with a raised eyebrow.
He glared at me tiredly, "yes, I'm not sure what my full age is. What does it matter anyways?"
"This is the twenty first century Erik, an 18-year-old can't be dating a 30-year-old."
He glared at me and was about to say something but was interrupted by the ringing of my door bell.
I sighed, "stay here." Erik put his hands up in mock surrender and I rolled my eye before going to answer the door.
I looked through the little window and saw the last person I wanted to see. Dexter.
And he was holding a bouquet of flowers in his hand.
I heard loud and quick steps behind me and turned to see Erik fuming, his fists were clenched at his sides and he didn't try to cover up his footsteps.
"Erik what are you doing?" I whisper-yelled at him walking towards him. He tried to walk past me but I blocked his part with my body, pressing my hands on his chest.
"That boy needs to be set in his place." He hissed baring his teeth like an angry wild wolf. "Your mine and he can't et anywhere near you."
"Erik! Calm down. I'll handle it, okay?"
He just nodded, his chest heaving with anger and his jaw clenched. I pointed for him to go stand in the shadows so Dex wouldn't see him and he obliged; blending in with the shadows like he was very skilled at.
I took a deep breath and opened the door. Dexter immediately engulfed me in a hug. "Hey Dex." I wheezed as he squeezed me tightly.
"Hey Amiele, I brought you flowers." He smiled sheepishly, which was honestly very cute, and gently placed them in my hands.
"Dex thanks you really didn't have to, but I think-"
He cut me off by kissing me on the lips, he pulled back and I just opened my mouth, no words coming out. And he kissed me again, claiming my mouth with his.
My eyes were wide open and his were closed, my lips didn't move a bit, and he pulled away.
Almost instantly there was a loud CRACK and Dex was pinned to wall by his neck.
Erik was face to face with him and he was growling loudly, my eyes went wide at his next words. "If you touch her ever again, I won't hesitate to-"
"ERIK STOP!" I demanded trying to pry his hand off of Dex's neck.
His grip didn't loosen at all and Dex's face began to turn bright red as he clawed at Erik's arms to break free of his iron hold.
Even though Erik was scrawny looking compared to Dexter's muscular build; yet he overpowered him easily.
"Erik you can't do this! Please for me." I pouted dramatically wrapping my arms around his waste and resting my head on his back. I felt him relax and saw his hand fall to his side.
He growled at him closing the space until they were nose to nose. "If you ever touch her again, I won't hesitate to kill you."
"You won't kill him if I have anything to say about it." I declared stubbornly, "he helped me Erik, I could be dead right now if it weren't for him!"
Erik growled again before backing up and wrapping and arm around my waist possessively. Dex looked between us, his blue eyes wide with pain and shock. Maybe even a small tint of fear.
"W-who is that?" He asked his clue craning and filled with pain. I flinched at how much negative emotion it had and opened my mouth to answer, but Erik cut me off, answering through his clenched teeth. "I'm her boyfriend."
Dexters eyes went wide, and his mouth opened, he let out a shuddered breath and let a determined look carve his features. "I won't give up on you, Amiele. I love you too much." And with that he was gone, I stare at the spot he previously occupied my brain swimming and my eyes fixed on the crack in the wall.
