Chapter song: The Only Exception
Pov Lalisa Manoban
As I parked my car, I realized that I was a little late for my meeting. I wasn't usually late for anything, but I had spent a lot of time at Jennie's house. She and her mother and I talked for hours, I missed getting together with those two.
I told her the news from Australia, about Rose and how much I was looking forward to her response, of course completely hiding the fact that I had gotten involved with her.
But that was all in the past, Rose had unceremoniously dismissed me. A week and a half had passed since the day she refused to go out with me and I just left her alone, today I would try to follow some of the routine with her, I had promised to stay by her side and support her but the problems I had to solve weren't letting me, I still had the possibility of receiving another refusal from her and this time in relation to music.
Dong-hae had gotten very close to her in those days and I was grateful for that, I realized that he made her more excited and could even make her sing. Something I hadn't yet had the privilege of seeing, of course I'd heard her a few times but Rose refused to perform for me before practicing. As if that were necessary, Rose had a unique voice and I saw a lot of similarities between her and Dong-hae.
I already had so many plans for the two of them in my head, even though I had never heard the two of them together either. Why did I seem the most lost in the story when I was the reason she was there?
Rose was messing up my life even without meaning to.
Today's meeting was for me to find out if Dong-hae's album was finally ready, the process of an album didn't just involve the music, the legal processes behind it were what took the longest, copyright music rights image rights. Things that, if we didn't do them, would have cost the company a lot of money.
After winding my way through the corridors of the record company, I finally arrived at the meeting room apologizing for being late, even if it wasn't much.
It lasted no less than two hours, and we finally left with the news I'd been waiting for.
The album was perfectly ready for release.
- You guys are incredible, this album came out in record time. - I spoke excitedly to the people who always accompanied me with those questions, Brandon was also there, as always.
Brandon was an extremely trusted lawyer of mine, he'd been with me since my record label hadn't even left the plant. Of course, it took him a while to get my trust. But I never had any problems when he was involved in my stuff.
- Let's tell Dong-hae, he must be so anxious.
- We need a little get-together to celebrate. - I said, getting up and walking alongside Brandon.
- What are you thinking?
- What do you say we celebrate at my place? It's been a while since we've gotten together there.
- It would be perfect Lisa, Dong-hae has total admiration for you, he'll fall over backwards with an invitation like that.
- He deserves it, he's worked hard all these years.
We then went in search of him to break the news, and found him training as usual.
It's hard to describe his reaction, but he sat still for a few long minutes trying to process my words, and I congratulated him with sincere words. I was really proud of what he had become through his talent, and through me of course.
