Kamijou spat out a bit of blood on the ground, carrying the pale-blue Index on his back. They were in an alleyway, traversing the near-inescapable labyrinth at night; luckily for Kamijou his eyes were quite capable of seeing in the dark.
He turned to a corner, looking back at Index to check on their condition.
Kamijou sighed, recalling what had happened back then.
Despite the explosion going off in his face, Kamijou managed to get one good hit in that posernpriest's face, knocking them out for the count. It did rattle him though, and even now his ears rung from time to time.
Was it a concussion? Kamijou didn't know, and he didn't care; right now he had a goal, and it was to bring Index someplace else.
'Stay tight there Index, we'll go and head to a hospital and patcj you up, they got a great doctor he'll-'
'No... please no... hospitals...'
Kamijou stopped. 'What do you mean, no hospitals? You're currently bleeding from your mouth, you need to see a doctor quickly!'
'No... am a... foreigner... not r-recognized... might turn... me away...'
(Shit!) Kamijou cursed to himself. But still, it was better than nothing. He might as well try to convince the staff and-
'I know... a couple magic... to heal me...'
'Really now? Well then, let's get to it then! What should I do to get it up and running?'
'You can't. You are... an Esper... the magic... will tear... your body... apart...'
Kamijou thought he couldn't get any paler. Here he was, able to face off an army of thugs by his lonesome, and defeated a Magician by himself. Yet he could do nothing for the girl, because he had powers which would make helping Index impossible.
Unless...
'Wait, you said an Esper?'
'Yes. Those "with talent"... cannot use powers developed... by "the talentless" as they... would hurt themselves... in the process... oh dear, I'm so sorry... I feel like sleeping... right... now...'
'No no no wait, stay with me! I got just the person to help you with your injury! I just hope they're still up at this time.'
Kamijou quickly ran as fast as he could, preferring to run normally than with his usual speed. He didn't want to hurt the girl behind him.
He hoped he wasn't too late.

Mikoto Misaka was not having a good night.
Following yesterday's events, when she left Kuroko at the restaurant, chased after that idiot, and pursued him around the City that night, her foul mood lingered even throughout the day.
She had wanted to help out Judgement with the Level Upper case, but now it was all for nothing, as apparently word had gotten out that a Level 5 (apparently they never said who it was) got involved in their business, and now very few dealers have been seen in public. And apparently they've moved on to online transactions instead of the usual in-public method, which made it so that Uiharu's been working on finding these "black sites" in an attempt to find these dealers and take out answers from them about the device.Kuroko didn't say anything actually, Mikoto only inferred those were the things they were doing through her junior's body language. Mikoto wasn't called the Strongest Electromaster for nothing, and one of the basic subjects 2nd-year Tokiwadai students were given to study was Psychology. Plus, Kuroko was an open book to almost everyone when it comes to work, although this was coming from the Railgun instead of a normal person.
