Regrets

Part 13.

Marissa and Aaron were planning their upcoming wedding. Aaron wanted Marissa to have a healthy relationship with his children.

" M, you are going to be their stepmother. I want us to blend like a happy family."

"I want that Aaron, but they are not even picking up my calls. I promise you I will try my best," she reassured him.

" Rose is also not responding to me. "

" I heard that both of them stayed with Heather for a month, and I am pretty sure she must have completely turned them against us."

"Quite possible. "

"Old hag, first leeched onto you for money now is after Zach."

"Hmm, we will fly to Boston and meet them. Rose is a daddy girl she will understand. You could be a better Mum than Heather. Teach her how to dress up and carry her like a lady "

He didn't want to spoil his mood further thinking about his children. He decided that he would mend his ties with Rose and then approach Zach. He suddenly changed the topic.

How are preparations for the wedding going? Have you shopped for a wedding dress? Wear a princess gown"

" That is a surprise, Aaron. You will be blown away. I have called Claire and Mum. We are flying to Paris next week "

"How can I survive being away from you?" he pulled her closer.

" How were you living before I came back?"

"My heart pierced when I heard that you were married. I never want to recall that."

" I am sorry, I promise I will compensate you enough."

She bent down on her knees and pulled down his clothes.

"What are you doing?" Aaron was panting.

" Showering my love. I will love you so much. You will forget everything. "

" Oh? Marissa "

" Sometimes I feel I am dreaming. You do not know how many times I dream about loving you. "

"I am real, Love"

He then hoisted her up and carried her to their bed. |His eyes were dark, dazzling with lust as he lifted her dress.

"Aarron.. "

"You are beautiful, Marissa," he whispered.

"You are mine M, only mine."

Heather had settled down well with Albert and his family. His wife Caroline adored her . Their children, Jenifer Maria and Juliet, are very attached to their aunt Anne. Heather's full name was Heather Anne Davidson. Everyone from her father's family used to call her Anne.

"Albert, why did you not move to New Zealand along with your sibling?"

" I wanted to go back home. Where my roots are and Carol's mum was there, It made my decision easy. I am not brainy like the rest of us and thought about buying this farm and running it all I can do best"

"What are Charles and Phil doing?"

"Well, Charlie is a property developer and Phil has a successful leather export business.

They sold most of the properties here, but the manor was left to me by Dad, so instead of selling it, I rescued it."

"You are doing pretty good. Well, I am the dumb one. Black sheep of family"

" Not at all, sister. We all used to adore you. You were the little princess of the family. but you forgot us after moving from here."

Heather's father, Mathew, was the second son of Edward Davison. Heather's great-grandmother, Lady Anne Paget, was the daughter of Viscount of Angelsy. Edward had 3 sons. He arranged for Mathew to be married to his friend's daughter, Elizabeth. Their union resulted in the birth of Heather, but unfortunately, she passed away during childhood. Heather was the first girl in the family after two generations. Then Mathew married Lisa Elizabeth's older sister. They had two more daughters, Clare and Marissa. Heather was always her grandparent's favorite.

Edward's old eyes saw the mistreatment of Heather at the hands of Lisa and, without disturbing his son's married life, he took Heather with him. Heather was raised by him till she was 16 and, unfortunately, he passed away due to old age and Heather had to return to London to be with her father.

When living with her grandparents, Heather had a good relationship with her uncle Phillip's children. Phillips jnr, Charles, and Albert. A year after Heather moved back to her parent's house, her uncle Phillip passed away in an accident and his wife migrated to New Zealand with her sons.

Heather lost contact with her cousins and when Albert moved back to Wales, he started to contact Heather, and they used to exchange Christmas presents and cards. They had a formal relationship.

"Sis, I always wanted to ask why you didn't contact us after you moved back to London."

" I wrote many letters but never got a reply. Lisa would not allow me near the telephone. I thought you people moved on and did not want to be in touch. After all, I was not a real sister according to Phil"

"You know Phil regretted saying those words. You know he is not the best at keeping his emotions in control. He always blamed himself for you cutting us off because of him."

" I was very hurt by Phil's words. You lost your dad, but I lost my uncle too. Zach is like Phil. He blurts out nonsense when angry."

"We called you as soon as we found your number but your husband turned us down. That son of a gun once and he said he was not aware of any cousins and asked us to leave you in peace. "

"When was that? I never knew you people called me . Trust me I would have jumped at any opportunity to mend our relationship".

" Claire gave us your number, but it was Aaron who picked up."

" They were all trying to isolate me and trust me they succeeded. I felt that I was all alone. I was so scared to call you."

" I do have enough words to express my anger towards those two witches and your low-life ex-husband. If they ever come before me, I am going to shoot them down."

"There is no point in mourning our past. We were too young and immature. We were all going through emotional turmoil."

" Anne, what happened to the property your dad inherited from Grandpa?"

"Albert, everything was transferred in Lisa's name. She said that I do not have any say in it."

"Did you get any alimony? I heard that Aaron did very well."

"That is a long story. I settled for 17 million pounds. He transferred the money. Zach handled it."

"Why did you settle for so little?"

"It is enough for me".

" That bastard Aaron will rot in hell"

"Don't worry sis, you have us now.JMJ are already in love with you."

"JMJ?"

"Jen, Maria, and Julia. My daughters. I never stopped talking about you. They knew that they had an aunt who was very much loved. It is good to have you back. Charles and Phillip are also coming to see you and apologize to you"
