Anne and Iris came to the event deliberately late. Both of them walked hand in hand. Escorted by their bodyguards. People knew whoever the women were. They were from prominent families.
They were seated at the first table in the front. They came through the special entrance at the back. Anne was not confident walking in the crowd without Daniel. Lisa was the first one to notice someone resembling Heather. They were seated in the front, so she was unable to confirm.
How can she be in the front? It might be someone else.
She thought. When Marissa was with Alex, she used to be seated in the front, but because of her stupid decision, she lost everything. Lisa never liked Aaron because of his humble background. Aaron's ancestors were slaves. She was so happy when she came to know about Aaron's background.
Lord Campbell, your true heiress, is married to someone whose class you despise.
She detested her father. Years later, Marissa married the same person, Aaron. At least he was wealthy enough now.
"Aaron, I want that pink diamond ring. Aaron started bidding, and he got it for a whopping 3 million dollars."
Anne noticed Aaron. She had no feelings for him now. She saw how he cared for Marissa. She noticed her baby bump and how supportive Aaron was.
She used to dread the day when she saw them together, but today she felt nothing. No anger, no pain. Maybe she never loved Aaron. She never knew what love was until she met Daniel.
She focused on the auction. There came a priceless hope diamond necklace. 10 percent of the sales were to be given to charity.
It was a 16th-century blue diamond. The item was sold for 55 million pounds. Everyone was surprised at the amount that the diamond necklace fetched. They were looking at the bidder who was unfamiliar.
The auctioneer congratulated a man. Then he revealed that the actual owner was Daniel, and he was just bidding on his behalf. Daniel walked on the stage stunning everyone.
Anne was surprised at her husband's sudden appearance. This man never missed a chance to amaze her.
"Who might the lady be who is going to adorn this timeless piece?"
"The woman who stole my heart years back. The blue diamond reminded me of my wife's innocent eyes when I saw her for the first time as a child."
"Can I ask Mrs Crawley to accompany her husband on the stage?"
Irsis smiled. "Don't be nervous go."
Heather gracefully walked up the stage. And held the mic
"I am floored by my husband's sweet gesture."
"Congratulations to the lovely couple who are the highest donors for tonight's event."
Many flashlights were capturing the beautiful couple for their first public appearance.
Aaron was shocked. It was an understatement. A volcano erupted in his heart. The woman who he thought was worthless was smiling radiantly at the other man. Their hands were intertwined.
They say one man's trash is another man's treasure.
They were together for more than 20 years. She never looked this radiant. He fisted his hand till his nails dug in his palm.
He saw how the other man kissed her in front of everyone, declaring his undying love. He wanted to rip them off.
Three other people were more angry and confused than Aaron.
