The ambulance got to the hospital as quick as possible, Alexa was still unconscious, but alive. The paramedics rushed her into the hospital, where Melissa McCall was standing right at the entry.
Melissa noticed the paramedic team rushing someone in, preparing to get right to work When Melissa noticed it was none other than Alexa Reed being wheeled in on a gurney in horrible shape, her heart stopped. She ran to the gurney the girl was lying on, pressing the paramedics with questions.
"What happend?!" Melissa asks frantically.
"Animal attack, we got a call to come to an abandoned house on Beacon Street." The paramedics informed.
"Is she going to be okay?" Melissa asks as tears well up in her eyes.
"She's unconscious, but breathing, I can't say for sure, but I'm hopeful she'll recover." The paramedics say to Melissa offering her hope. The team rushed the teenager into the operating room immediately getting to work.
Melissa took a moment to breathe and try to calm herself down after seeing the young girl she thinks of as a daughter laying there lifeless. As she starts to calm down she thinks about Scott, knowing she needed to call him and tell him to get here as fast as possible.
Melissa dialed her son's number and hit call, waiting for him to pick up. Finally he did.
"Mom is everything okay? Aren't you working?" Scott asks his mom after answering the phone.
"Honey, I need you to get Stiles and come to the hospital as soon as possible." Melissa says in a soft but sad tone, worrying Scott immensely.
"Mom what's going on?" Scott asks.
"There was an animal attack this evening." Melissa starts beating around the bush knowing this news will devastate her son.
"Okay? Why do I need to come to the hospital then?" Scott asks confused.
"Honey, it was Alexa, she's in surgery as we speak, she was in bad shape." Melissa says revealing the news.
"What? Is she okay?" Scott asks panicked.
"I'm not sure, when they wheeled her in I almost didn't recognize her, she was covered in blood, slash marks all over her front and back, and a huge bite mark in her shoulder." Melissa says to her son.
Scott's face pales, he knew this wasn't just any animal, it was the alpha.
"I'm on my way" Scott says hanging up immediately.
